Amazon検索したら同じ様な押し出し式の器具が沢山出てきて迷った そこで、便利で助かるレビュー読んだり価格帯を比較したりし 数種に絞ったがどうもジャガイモならどれもいけそうだが 目的のジャガイモより密で堅いサツマイモとなると てこの原理的機構で力が入るハンドル部分の作りや仕様がポイントの様で 中空タイプ（パイプ）は案外折れたレビューもあったりし 鋳物のハンドルがシッカリして良さそうでさらに絞り込んだ 格子状の刃の性能もあるが それを押し出す部分はプラ製だったり形状が？な感じのもあったりで 消去法みたいな選択方法の後この商品を選んだ。 少しお高いのが残念でしたが、安価で簡単に壊れるよりイイかと注文 納期に数日かかりましたが予想通りのガッチリ感もある商品到着 そして期待のサツマイモカット！ 思惑通りスムースで安定的に使え ハンドルも思った通り鋳物でガッチリし使っていて安心安定感があったので この商品を選んでみて良かったと思っています。

This beast does the job! On the box, it states this is a commercial, industrial product. I bought the Weston 1/4-inch cutter which I have already put to the test as I love julienne fries. You should know that the smaller the cut, the more force is required to push the potato through the cutter. The 1/2-inch cutter the unit comes with barely requires any force to use. This unit did not fail (unlike cheaper, plastic kitchen tools I've tried before). The unit is solid cast iron painted in a green rust proof paint. It weighs a hefty 10 lbs so the feel is very solid. For me, the suction cups did not consistently adhere to the surface but the unit being so heavy, I had no trouble using it. Also, if you plan on using this vertically you will need to bolt it to a beam wall (not Sheetrock or drywall - it needs solid anchoring). The maximum length of your potato cannot exceed 6 inches as that is the maximum the chamber will allow. As others have mentioned, cleaning requires disassembly and a screwdriver is needed to remove the top "push" plate. The bottom cutter plate is held in place with three wingnuts which can be manually removed. The back panel "V" plate which hold the potato is easily removed by sliding it through the bottom opening once the cutter plate is removed. The rest of the unit could be wiped with damp cloth if needed so you're only cleaning the pusher and cutter plates plus the stainless steel backwall (it takes less than a minute to remove/replace these parts). I usually cut large quantity and hold these cut potatoes in water (and a bit of vinegar) refrigerated until used. Because this is a bit more expensive, I resisted buying a model like this before. But after 2 broken plastic cutters and mandolins that just won't do the job, I regret my past resistance.

going to a famous hamburger place in oakland made me wanting a french fry cutter, I did a fairly extensive search and came across this one, as always a bit worrying that i was going overboard i hold my thoughts until i used it for a while but after many french fries platter to the delight of the kids i can say " mission accomplished", this cutter makes cutting fries a much easier task, it is solidly built and stand well on the succion cups on any surface. it came not assembled but I was able to pull it together on my own, my hubby did put the final touch in tightening the bolts. Now i can easily do regular potatoes, one trick I found is to put one potato after the other without pulling the cut fries every time, the following potato push thru the one cut prior, for big potatoes my hubby is needed when it comes to cut the number 1 Russet potatoes, they are much bigger and require some strengh to push them thru but kids enjoy the 6 to 8 inch long fries. i did get and use all the time a smaller 3/8 inch cutter, changing it was fairly easy. A good purchase that will go a long way.
