Impressed
Ok, I was skeptical when I ordered this. But, it was exactly what I needed. Assembly was straightforward, though the instructions are not super clear, and the hardware does not appear to be grade 8, but all bolts are appropriate to the application. It has held up well for several weeks of log dragging, and is built pretty well. I use this on a subcompact Kubota and have been skidding black locust ogs in the 600-1000lb range. I bought a grapple hook as well as the boom does not come with one. Works well, is easy to operate and honestly I don't have any complaints. No, the welds are not perfect and I bet the powder coat on it will flake with some time, but, for the price and performance, it can't be beat. Would it hold up to 5000lb logs? I don't know, but for medium to smaller logs it's great. After doing some logging, I had a 20'+ elm come down on our place in a storm. Diameter at the base where it broke was around 10". Hooked up the entire broken tree and easily dragged it uphill to the burn pile whole. I think I'm gonna get a lot of use out of this simple implement.

Bang for buck
Package arrived sooner than expected and was destroyed...however everything checked out. Skidder was easy to assemble but parts were warped and it was necessary to use an imapct to snug everything up. Paint looks good. Chain that came with it looks cheap and have not used it yet. Very handy tool for the money. - inexpensive - decent paint - effective tool Review to be updated

Great for pulling weeds, not trees
This is junk, lasted about 30 seconds before it folded like a beer can. The metal is so twisted I canโt even return it. What a waste

So far so good easy assembly seems ridged added a bit of welding at the noted fail point to make it little better should work to pull 8ft logs out of the woods with!

Better than expected
Iโve been skidding 17โ fresh cut pines up to 28โ diameter-no problems. Also lifting the stumps up to 48โ diameter at the base x 3โ high. No metal bending. As lightweight as it is, I was skeptical it would hold up, but so far zero issues. Good value for $.

Lightweight hardware is not suitable for this skidder
Although this is a convienient item for skidding logs, it is not heavy duty. After checking the hardware, chain, bolts etc... it is to be noted the bolts are not G8, but a soft steel as is the chain. Knowing that many reviews state that the bolts failed early on, I chose to have the jointed areas welded. This was at an additional cost of 60.00. I now am assured of the safety and strength of the skid. It would be preferred that suitably stronger bolts be supplied with the skidder. I also replaced the skimpy chain with a 5/8 inch heavy log chain with hooks.

sent wrong size bolt to hold brackets
Minimalistic directions, as expected. Heavy Guage metal appears very sturdy, however, the single M12x85 bolt to hold the stabilizer brackets together is too short, the threads barely protrude through the assembly. I must now wait to find the correct size bolt to finish the assembly process. Very frustrating to not even have the correct parts included.
