Love it at this price - bought two!
Crazy as it sounds, at the price point these are selling at (the EX-7s being discontinued with the new EX-8s being the commercial'ish grade replacement) we bought two of these. So far we are loving them. It was very easy to assemble - took me about 2 hours the first time being very meticulous, following the instructions to a T, etc., and a little over an hour the 2nd time around. The software setup through the screen in both cases was tricky - if you don't have ethernet, you first specify your wifi info - all good - download the latest firmware for the tablet/screen - all good - then when the screen tries to pair with the bike, the problem starts. The simple solution/workaround is to disconnect the USB cable between the bike and the screen and have the screen pair with the bike via bluetooth. At that point, it'll pair with the bike, allow you to upgrade the firmware on the bike, and then you can reconnect the USB and have wired connectivity between the bike and the screen, which is more stable than bluetooth. Annoying, but only a one-time hassle and it's worked great ever since. The quality and ruggedness of the bike is amazing - especially at this price point (less than a quarter of the original price when released!). We don't have the P bike or a Nordi or other high end ones, but did spend a lot of time with a BF Velo and I'd say that the build quality is on par with the BF Velo. The drivetrain is very smooth and quiet and provides plenty of resistance. The screen is very high quality and very responsive. The speakers are tinny, but we paired it to a bluetooth soundbar so no longer a concern. We successfully paired this with the Echelon heart rate arm band monitor and it works great showing you your heart rate stats including your calculated zone on the screen during the workouts. The Echelon subscription content is fantastic. We'll likely continue to pay for it after the free trial period ends shortly. Our only concern is that they do use a proprietary bike pedal (the diameter threading that attaches to the crank) and while it's very heavy duty, if the pedal ever needs to be replaced, no idea whether Echelon will carry them. Hoping we never need to find out. As for the pedals, they work fine with SPD cleated shoes or regular athletic shoes if you don't want to clip in - we've used both. Overall we love this bike (again, we bought two of them, we like them that much!). I don't imagine it'll be on sale much longer, but if you can pick one up anywhere close to the price they're currently selling at, you absolutely should. Highly recommended.

Awesome bike, great value!
This is a fantastic bike for the money! Set up was super easy, took me about 30 mins total including unboxing. The ride is incredibly smooth and totally silent. Itโs got a small footprint which is really great if you are in an apartment or have limited space. All the tools are included and there are very few parts in the assembly. Iโve not set up the app yet, but will give the free trial a try. One thing to note, this bike comes standard with a racing seat. Racing seats are not designed for comfort, so if youโre not used to them you have a couple options- swap out the seat, or get cycling shorts which have padding in the butt. I am not a fan of the squishy seats, as they are wide so if you stand up for climbing, stick with the seat this comes with and do yourself a favor and invest in a good pair of cycling shorts. You should also note that everything is adjustable - take some time to try different riding positions before you judge this bike as it can make a difference. Iโm 5โ 8โ and itโs perfect for me, and I could see this working for anyone between 5โ and up to 6โ4โ which is a pretty big range for a bike. This replaces an old chain spin bike that Iโve had for a decade and wow, what an upgrade. Itโs everything Iโd hoped for at a quarter of the price of the fancy bigger name spin bikes. Echelon makes other fitness equipment including workout mirrors, so it is not some fly-by-night company. Iโve been looking for a solid bike for about 6 months and did a lot of research befor investing; Iโve shifted from running to cycling to save my knees and so definitely wanted something high quality. The build feels super solid and as I said, the ride is smooth and comfortable. Canโt wait to add this to my daily workout routine. Excellent value and special thanks to the Amazon delivery person who brought this up to the 2nd floor to my apartment door- thank you for going above and beyond!

Very easy to adjust for different size bikers
This is a family bike. We have had the bike for over 2 years. It has stood up to adjusting between 4 different bikers who range from 5โ5โ to 6โ. The bike is very easy to use and adjust. You can create a free account to track your miles and speed. It is easy to move the bike around for cleaning. The workout feels quality. The bike itself is very durable and quiet to use. I think you hear our breathing more than the bike! We bought the bike on a new years sale and got a great deal. It has been a great value for a bike for the money .

Great Entry Level Spin Bike, Trash App
This bike is a great upgrade from my folding pro-form bike. I don't know much about spin bikes nor take spin classes so this review is from a novice rider who just pedals for an hour while watching tv. Pros: The ride is smooth. There is no noise or jerkiness while riding. Very stable. The bike doesn't shake around when I pedal faster. Great adjustability. The seat and handlebar posts have multiple adjustment points. And you can pull out the lever for quick adjustments. Cons: The app is trash. They really want you to subscribe to their service so there are ads for it all over the place. The "free style" mode that is mentioned in the reviews is now covered in ads for classes and the only way to turn them off is to subscribe. Your stats are squished to the very bottom of the screen while a giant rotating class ad takes up most of the screen real estate. I highly recommend the app "QZ (qdomyo-szwift)" in the Android app store (not sure if it's also on iPhone). The name is weird, but the app works great. It connects to your bike via Bluetooth and spits out every stat you could want on a blank screen (current time, elapsed time, cadance, resistance, odometer, calories, etc.) It even has peleton numbers if you like to follow their classes. This is what the echelon "free style" app should be (and probably once was) before they trashed it with ads. The seat isn't comfortable. Now this is coming from a novice rider, but I immediately swapped the seat with a large area one and also bought a gel topper. My butt still hurts after 30 minutes of riding, but that's still much better than it was. The handlebars aren't padded. There is a rubber coating on the handbars, but after a while you feel the metal pressing into your hands. I'm still looking for solutions on this (either a slip-on pad or padded gloves would probably help). Overall this is a great entry level spin bike. It has a smooth ride and is very adjustable. Only major con is the official companion app and that's a big deal since it's the only "official" way to view your stats since this bike has no screen. The app "QZ (qdomyo-szwift)" is much better and I highly recommend trying it. Also, my bike had no serial number sticker on the bike itself. The serial number sticker was on the box, so make sure to record that before tossing it out.

Two Year Review: Great at first but lost its "Smartness" after two years of use.
We had the Eschelon Smart Connect bike for over two years now. Here is my review: Pros: -Mechanically the bike is built soundly and runs beautifully. -Very quiet -Fits both me (6'4") and my wife (5'6") relatively comfortably. Cons: -Seat was uncomfortable and we did end up switching it out. Not a deal breaker though. -Bluetooth failed and has no remedy to fix. (Will touch on this later). -Customer Service has been severely lacking. At first, we loved this bike. Both my wife and I use this frequently. We especially liked the connectivity since we track our fitness metrics through different apps. As I said mechanically speaking it is a sound bike, but this cannot be called a "Smart bike" if the Bluetooth fails after only two years. The connectivity was a major reason why we purchased this bike and the nice price point in comparison versus more expensive brands. I have been severely disappointed by the lack of responses from the company. I have sent multiple inquiries on how to correct the Bluetooth issue and a replacement part. At first their answer was to get 15% off on a new bike. This was not a great solution after spending $500 on the original only a few years ago. Then the customer service has said it is checking with other departments since the part is not available. I have to repeatedly send inquires to get any updates at all. This has been going on for close to a month and am very doubtful we will ever get a remedy at this point. Products fail, that is life. No product has perfect quality, but the customer service is what makes or breaks supporting a company and buying a product. I cannot support this product or company going forward. Sometimes it is worth paying extra to know a product will continue to function as expected or at the very least be taken care of if it doesn't.

Forget Pelotonโฆ.Echelon this is the only bike you need
I wanted a magnetic exercise bike that was excellent quality, provided me a smooth, trackable ride and didnโt break the bank. Prior to purchasing, I watched tons of YouTube videos i.e., comparison, quality, price, magnetic vs. old school. Videos pretty much on every decent brand of magnetic bike Peloton, Schwann, Joroto, Sunny, Proform, Echelon and many more. Even the different styles for each brand name. There truly are so many different bikes. I went with the Echelon EX-15 and I got it in the mail today!!!! I couldnโt have been more excited!! Amazon delivered it right to my living room floor. I did NOT purchase the Amazon assembly, just the $9.99 delivery fee to get it inside the house. I literally set it up in less than 30 minutes, itโs so freaking easy and the directions are perfection, exact step-by-step instructions are provided. SO EASY!!! You really donโt need to pay the extra $80 for assembly. While I was putting it together I noticed how superior quality this bike actually is. Itโs so nice! Once put together, I plugged in my bike, added my iPad, opened the echelon app and took my first ride on it! Wowza, itโs freaking amazing! So smooth, and literally makes no sound at all! I canโt believe I got this bike for a mere $399!!!!!!! Even more so, I canโt believe people pay $1400-$2800 for other high end brands. Seriously people, if youโre considering a magnetic bike you will be so happy with this bike!!! Donโt waste all the extra money on a name. The higher priced ones simply have a screen. If you already have an iPad use it and get this bike. Additionally, I find the echelon app for instructor led classes monthly fee to be quite high ($40 per month)! You donโt need the membership. Download the app to your phone, set up an account, go to other, select free ride and you can operate and track your workout on your phone. For actual instructor led classes, I signed up for the Peloton classes which are only $12.99 per month!!!! So, download Peloton app on your iPad and whooop there ya go! Youโre ready to take Peloton classes on your iPad and your phone will monitor everything else on you echelon app. Itโs pretty amazing! And all this for $399 and a $12.99 monthly fee from Peloton. So happy and thankful to everyone who posted YouTube videos and allowed/helped me in making such a great, cost effective purchase! Hoping to pass this info and purchase success on to everyone!

Excellent bike
I've been using an old friction resistance spin bike for years now, and appreciated it's sturdiness and ease of maintenance at the tradeoff of limited tracking capabilities, but finally opted for one of these as an upgrade. So far, very pleased with the quality construction and functionality. I suspect these models have likely been sitting in a warehouse for some time, so keep in mind you'll have to ensure the firmware on both your bike and display will have to be up to date when you set it up. And at the ~120lbs, it's a robust enough frame that my 6'2 210lb can push it hard without worrying about tipping the thing over (lol), which is something you legitimately have to worry about with some of the cheaper magnetic resistance bikes out there. As a comparison, I had bought a DMASUN magnetic resistance bike back in June, only to soon discover that it's very lightweight construction (barely 60lbs) rendered it quite useless for me. You get what you pay for, and i'd consider this bike model to be on par with a Peloton. We'll see how it holds up after everyday use for the next few months. Oh, and if the subscription thing is not in the budget for you, the freestyle mode works fine and provides you all of the realtime tracking and resistance control functions, so you can do your own workout and have no problem with this bike. Edit: I think the low ratings here are mostly a product of people's assessment based on buying the bike at a much higher price. At its sub $400 price currently, it's ridiculously low. Any concerns about the pedals can be resolved by applying a thread locker. I've done so with mine and have experienced no loosening since. It's an excellent bike at its current price and I'm certain you won't find a better equipped one anywhere near this price.

So Far It's Great!!!!
This bike was very easy to assemble. Took maybe 40 min and I took my time, the directions for assembly were very clear. I was a little nervous when it came to the pedals because never have I had luck putting them on. Directions explained the left pedal is a reverse thread and just like that it went on without issues. Yay me! I took a 40 min ride the 1st nite so I could make adjustments prior to workout the next aftn. It connected without and issue. I've read in reviews others have had issues and could not connect to the app so I was concerned I made the wrong choice. Day 3 behind me and no connection troubles. You get a month free with the echelon app and I will forewarn the monthly membership is pricey, 39 a month. If you pay for 2 yrs it is 33. I've read if you do not go with the membership you can still use freestyle in the app. I will renew atleast once and see how it goes. Some say you can use the peleton app and that's around 12 bucks. I do not understand why echelon is so much more. As for the ride it is a very quite ride. The only noise coming off of the bike was from the rider, me, yelling at the instructor because they tell me to increase resistance to like 18 and I am a beginner! Just wait Echelon. I will get there Cons? Well the pricey app membership but if it gets my backend to commit money we'll spent depending on a person's budget. I have experienced the seat sliding back on m e after it was assembled tightly but I may not have had it snug enough. Was being careful not to strip any threads . That's it, I love this bike! I think one needs to take in consideration of one's size and internet connection before buying. The bike itself fit through the doorway when I wheeled it into another room. I think this bike is a great choice for beginners.

Excellent bike for the price
Iโve had the bike now for three weeks and absolutely love it. Itโs a great bike for the price. I was deciding between purchasing the 4s+ from Costco on sale for $999 then this bike went on sale from Amazon for $599. I had researched every bike out there and watched so many videos and reviews I came to the conclusion this is the best affordable bike unless you want to spend the money and get a peleton. The bike was very easy to assemble I did it myself in 30mins. I did watch tailhappy assembly video on YouTube. The bike is sturdy, quiet and just a really nice ride. I did get a gel seat cover. I love that I can watch anything and not have to subscribe to the echelon app. I think this is better than getting the bikes with a screen. Iโm currently using the free month with peloton and will decide if I want to keep it or just watch YouTube videos. Very happy with this purchase.

Would recommend for home cycling
Excellent bike, had it for a year, the bike itself is very sturdy and professional, no different to a decent bike in a good gym, had some issues with the software but the online help phoned me back and was sorted easily.

Check whatโs included with the product
The product picture shows an iPad. Itโs not part of the product. Also checking the speed or any other feature is available only with subscription. No subscription = you get. Very basic bike.

Echelon makes bad batch of pedals for echelon ex-5 series bike
Two years after my initial purchase I final invested in bike cleat shoes. Sadly it took me this long to discover there was a manufacturer error made in the pedals. The model claims the that it adapts to two, types of shoes, street shoes and bike shoes with cleats. Though this may be true the pedals sent with my bike were installed with reversed shoe cleats and and in order to switch from street shoes to Spd cleatbike shoes the pedals need to be removed
