I use these at work, and I've purchased a lot of them now too. These always work, have never broken, and the labels on the connectors are great so you don't have to remember what color is what signal. A couple more dollars than some other options, but definitely worth it.

I've found through experience that the CP2102 chipset and drivers (linux, mac, and windows) are the most reliable USB-to-TTL adapters for work. These cables are well built, and the labeled leads are quite nice. One of the cables I ordered was mislabeled. I'll update to 5 stars when I receive the correct replacement.

Replacement for an older/slower converter, with this you have options by building your own rs232 interface. Works great!

Overall no issue. However, when first received the product, the Tx and Rx wires were label incorrectly. I has to swap the two.

Definitely was much higher quality crafted than 99% of the rest of the TTL cables around. However I wasted so much time it was not even funny to the point I returned it. The cable Leeds color scheme does not match the documentation or websites documentation. As in the colors are completely different and labeling doesn't match whatsoever. Therefore you're left trying to try combinations of gd, tx, rx, Hope the right lead gets on the right pin. Not cool, at all!

The cable is made well and seems sturdy. The cable is flat making it easy to wrap up for storage. The end has shrink-wrap were the pin wires come out to help protect them. The pin cables are shielded with a stiff plastic coating (instead of soft silicone). This is good in that it helps to connect and disconnect them, but it could make them susceptible to damage over time.The ends are very clearly labeled which makes this easy to use. I have several TTL cables where the ends are not labeled at all. I have to pull the data sheet every time I use one of them. The pins are all separated which is good and bad. When using this in place of FTDI cable with a fixed connector (where all 6 pins are used), it can take a minute or two to get them all connected in the correct order. When using this cable with other devices that use only a fee of the pins, having them separated is very helpful as it makes connections quick and easy.I tested this on a few microcontrollers that are programmed using an FTDI cable and it worked perfectly (ATmega328P and ESP8266). I tested on macOS Catalina 10.15.7 and Windows 10 using the Arduino IDE. No issues on either system. To use this as an FTDI cable the order of the wires is Ground (black), CTS (purple), Power (blue), TX (brown), RX (yellow) and RTS (red).I am a little annoyed that power is not red, but blue and the RTS is red. It really doesn’t matter, and they are clearly labeled, but red for power is how just about all other cables are made.In each test I powered the board using the cable. The documentation does not specify a maximum current so I would assume the standard .5 A to be safe (which seems to be supported by the CP2102 datasheet).The cable can be used as a standard TTL cable to communicate to a serial device with just 3 of the wires: ground, TX and RX. If you want to only “listen” to serial output on a device then only the ground and RX wires need to be connected (RX connects to the device TX pin). For example, monitoring data from a GPS device requires just the RX pin. If you need to send commands to the GPS device connect TX too. If you are using the cable to provide power to a device then connect the power wire as well (see note below on 5V). If you are powering a device externally, then disconnect the power wire. If there is no protection diode on the device, and the power surges from the external supply, the cable and/or your USB port can be damaged.I was able to test the transmission at speeds up to 2 Mbps and did not have any issues.Note this is a 5V cable meaning the VCC pin is 5V. The other pins will be at a 3V logic level. It is important to check any device before connecting the cable. For example, if your microcontroller or device requires 3.3V power, do not use the VCC pin from this cable to power the device. Use external power and only connect the ground pin (the ground pin/wire is ALWAYS required).The first image I attached shows the device connected to a microcontroller to program it and to supply power. The second image shows the same configuration but with the microcontroller using external power. The third image shows the cable connected to only monitor serial communications from the device.If you plan to use this on a breadboard, I recommend getting a 0.1" extra-long break-away header to hold the pins in a perfect sized row for the board (see last two images).Overall this is a nice cable at a much lower price that FTDI cables which can run $20 (with a non-cloned chip).

I got this for NPI, serial access and it is less than useful.1. Does not RX or TX anything. I got one line of output, out of thousands and takes no input.2. It disconnects from your Mac or Windows PC when you power-cycle the DUT.3. Windows 11 had no functional drivers out of the box, so had to Google and download.Overall 2/5 stars as it just does not work. I used to use FT232RL previous which was great, but died due to a static shock. Will need to get more FT232RLUPDATE: After about 30 minutes, the cable stopped being detected by my PC.I bought two, so after trying the second cable, it worked for a moment but after about 5 minutes, it too stopped working in the same way.Only using gnd, rx, and tx on my devices, and like I mentioned before, it works great on FT232RL and even other cheaper devices in the past.

Instalé los drivers pero no funciona. El ordenador (probado en tres ordenadores) no lo reconocen. Tengo otros USB - TTL y funcionan perfectamente.

Ich habe das Kabel bestellt um Fernbedienungen mit JP1 Interface (nahezu alle OneForAll Modelle) individuell zu konfigurieren bzw die Funktion zu erweitern. Dies klappte unter Windows 11 nach Installation des Treibers problemlos. Somit ... empfehlenswert!

Qualcosa mi è andato storto nell'aggiornamento firmware del router Netgear WNR3500v2, in particolare volevo installare il firmware originale su uno custom, purtroppo alla fine dell'operazione il router non dava segni di vita ovvero si accendeva solo la spia "power" col colore arancione. A quel punto o lo buttavo o provavo di ripristinare il firmware in qualche modo. Per ripristinare il firmware originale o acquistato questo cavo seriale dotato già (in un dischetto allegato) del driver per Windows 10. Una volta riconosciuta la porta com è sufficiente seguire una procedura dettagliata passo passo disponibile online e il gioco è fatto ovvero il firmware è correttamente ripristinato e il router torna a svolgere il suo servizio. Consiglio l'acquisto in particolare agli smanettoni (come me), perché la procedura di ripristino è comunque piuttosto laboriosa.

Contrairement à d'autres câbles achetés chez un autre, ceux-ci sont fiables et fonctionnent très bien.
