Smooth, Natural Cacao Taste!
If you're looking for a warm, comforting drink that delivers the richness of chocolate without the jitters of coffee, look no further than Crio Bru Ghana Light Roast! The first thing you notice is its aroma - a gentle, natural cocoa scent that feels inviting and soothing. Brewed like coffee, but made from 100% Fair Trade Cacao beans, it offers a smooth, mild chocolate flavor with subtle nutty undertones. Unlike darker roasts, this light roast avoids bitterness, making it easy to sip black or with a splash of milk. The texture is lighter than hot chocolate - more like a tea or coffee infusion - so don't expect creaminess unless you add milk or cream. It's perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up, a cozy evening ritual, or even as a base for creative drinks like cacao lattes. Crio Bru Ghana Light Roast is a comforting, guilt-free alternative to coffee or sugary cocoa drinks. If you love the idea of sipping pure, roasted cacao with a gentle flavor profile, this is a must-try product.

Flavorful healthy drink alternative to coffee!
I have not subscribed to anything as of yet to receive regular shipments, but this product may change all of that. I began to learn a bit about the health benefits of the ground cacao seeds, which I will leave that up to your own research, but this blend / product is excellent. I love the taste of coffee, but as an athlete still competing in racquet sports I did not like the jittery feeling of the caffeine within my system. In addition the caffeine increased my sweat during play requiring me to wear a headband to keep it out of my eyes. (each person's experience may be different). To have an alternative that taste awesome and actually has health benefits...I am sold!! I have not tried all the flavors, but I am looking into them.

Decent Coffee Replacement
In an attempt to overcome a caffeine addiction, I searched out things that would help. I don't really know how much energy this stuff provides, but I feel like it does help me not "crash" in the afternoon. There are a few ways to make it, and my favorite has proven to be with a french press. I didn't own one prior, but buying one was worth it, as I feel like it does provide a more flavorful bru. They have a video on their website of how to bru it, which I followed and found to be helpful. The flavor it really unlike anything else. It's not coffee, and it's not hot chocolate, it's really something all of it's own, but is pretty good. I don't really like it without creamer, but even back when I drank coffee, I could only take it with lots of milk and sugar. I wish it wasn't so expensive, as I have to buy a new bag every week. It's pricey stuff. But if you are looking for a coffee alternative, I think this may be a solution. I feel that I have overcome my caffine addiction and I am no longer plauged with headaches in the afternoon if I don't get my fix. I don't know if that is all thanks to Crio, but maybe.

Cacao beans
I do like the Crio Bru ground cacao and French press. It is very good and the description that it tastes like 'chocolate tea' was accurate. I would purchase again.

Not good Mav, not good...
I have a Keurig coffee maker and use the refillable cups. When I opened the bag the aroma was fabulous and I couldn't wait for the first cup. I was disappointed to say the least. What ended up in the mug was nothing more than brown colored water. Not the promise of rich cocoa flavor that the commercials has promised. I though that it was user error and that there was a bit of a learning curve. Rite ratios and all, since coffee is a science. I used less in the cup, mixed it with my regular coffee even let it steep in a separate cup a still no joy. I may try one last time with an old drip coffee maker we have but I am not holding my breath for a better result.

If you love chocolate...
Delicious! I don't think this will replace my morning coffee...well maybe one day. It will definitely be my go to for something warm on a chilly/cold day. Can't wait to enjoy it around a campfire! It smells and tastes wonderful. Great job Crio Bru. Love it!

Disgusting taste
It's probably just me, an individual reaction to this, but although I followed the directions, the drink almost made me sick, it was such a disgusting taste. I've never reacted to anything this way before! Like I said, it's probably just me--I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the product. Just mentioning it in case anyone else has a reaction to it. Later I read that theobromine can cause nausea! So maybe that was what made me feel so sick. But the taste of this stuff was also nauseating... there goes $20 into my composter!

Health cocoa. Add sugar and cream. Let steep at least 10 minutes.. or more. You will get
a very rich and nutritious cup of cocoa. I use a steel pan and boil water in it. When it boils I toss in a good handful of the cacao then turn off the heat. Then I add 2 or 3 tspns of white sugar and a healthy dollop of half and half. Then I let it sit and go back to work on my computer. Some time later, the scent of chocolate is permeating the house and I go back in the kitchen turn on the stove again and reheat the cocoa. After it comes to a boil I take it off and then put a steel mesh strainer over my big coffee mug and pour the mixture in. The strainer separates the raw cacao from the drink which is left hot and creamy in your cup. Delicious. I like the Ghana light roast. I also have the Nicaragua which has a stronger flavor. Sometimes I mix them if I want stronger. Although I always drink coffee black I don't recommend drinking this cacao like that. I drink coffee in the day and cacao with cream and sugar at night.

Dark chocolate that's not too sweet
Tastes like a dark chocolate hot chocolate without sugar so you are able to adjust the sweetness to your liking. Loving it hot or cold.making it in a French press and working wonderfully. Will be ordering again!

Definitely not coffee, but pretty good
I have seen many ads for this product, so when Amazon threw it to me as a checkout suggestion I decided to try it. The smell is just heavenly, as you'd expect. We used a French Press and while the flavour itself is excellent, like very dark chocolate, the mouthfeel just isn't the same as coffee. It doesn't feel as rich and bold. Of course that's fair: it *isn't* coffee. What I plan to do with the rest of it is combine it with a dark roast coffee for a bit more body. I would recommend this product as a coffee adjunct or for people who are unable to have coffee. If you just want a chocolatey drink you might be better off with a regular hot chocolate.

Underwhelming
Smells great, but tastes like hot brown water. Chocalate and coffee are my weaknesses. This though, has extremely weak flavour, even after steeping for 15 minutes and stirring twice in a French press. I want to like it, but it could never replace an espresso drink. I'll keep trying different ways to prepare it, but I'm not overly hopeful.
