I bought my first set of IKEA picnic ware when my now 17-year-old son was weaning. The jewel-coloured translucent colourway lasted thru endless packed lunches, picnics and camping trips. It was very easy to clean by hand or dishwasher, used in the microwave and freezer and just kept going. However as with anything where kids are involved, over the years the odd item got lost, cutlery went the way of the missing stainless steel teaspoon, plates used as frisbees weren't always retrievable from the trees and so on. It was time to relegate what remains of my original set for use as plant pots and pet bowls and upgrade to a new smart matching set for when we finally get to meet up with friends after a year under covid house arrest. I considered the fancy modern melamine, bamboo and wheat sets but in the end decided to stick with this tried and tested old faithful in the hope that it will last as long as my old set did. While small, the plates are large enough for a sandwich & the bowls for a sorbet meaning I used them a lot more for adult picnics and meals in the garden than I ever envisaged. They are also very light and convenient to carry for the sandwich or salad eaten at one's desk at work. They are most certainly not full dinner plate sized, more side plate if comparing to your regular china dinner set. The plates do have a very convenient lip to prevent spillage though, which is so useful for eating outdoors, especially if like us you are fond of rice and couscous based meals. The new pastel colours do look very smart and fashionable for a set that will be used by adults mostly, now pre-schoolers are only visitors to our home. The pastel colours look far more adult and less pre-schooler than the previous translucent jewel-coloured set I owned, which tbh is a bit of a relief. The cutlery remains smooth enough to feel confident allowing tinies to use independently, and there are no sharp edges on the plates, bowls or beakers. I suspect any staining may be easily removed by soaking the item overnight in Milton sterilising fluid. The items can also be boil washed or put thru the hottest setting in the dishwasher for those worried about infection control in this horrid covid era. The set is a good deal cheaper in IKEA, but that presupposes you will be able to actually visit a store in person since IKEA delivery charges are shocking high. I'm very pleased and have no qualms about recommending this product to others. My only caveat is that you are fully informed that this is NOT a full-size dinner set, and is scaled for children.

I love this set, but it arrived without the cutlery so I am disappointed. I have contacted the seller to see if they can rectify this. The bowls, plates and cups are great quality and nice colours, perfect for my 4 year old.

Ideal if you have young children/grandchildren. Just the right size. Also good for outdoor use. Excellent value for money. Sturdy & easy to clean.

Ho aspettato tre settimane per fare la recensione perché volevo usarli un pochino e vedere come resistevano ai lavaggi. Devo dire che la qualità è ottima, ho messo tutto per più volte in lavastoviglie. Uso queste stoviglie con la mia bimba così è autonoma, ma non rischiamo di rompere nulla e che si possa fare male. L'unica cosa che non saprei dire è quanto possano tagliare i coltelli perché non li usiamo ancora
