No, this dashcam cannot transmit video via the cloud or the Internet. WiFi is designed only for connecting to mobile phone apps. As long as you are within its 10-foot range, you can connect to the Kingslim APP to watch live videos.

Do I have to connect to camera WiFi signal each time you get in the car in order for it to record?

No, the dashcam will automatically record videos as soon as it is turned on (no need to connect each time).
