FBA_XL-2400 TV Lamp with Housing for Sony TV

I bought this over 8 months ago and it is still going strong in my projection TV (KDF-55E2000). I use the TV hours everyday and have had no issues at all. I would definitely buy another of these to replace my bulb next time (this has lasted longer than the bulb installed by a local Sony Certified Repair Center, when they took and cleaned out my TV and installed a new bulb in the year prior). It was very easy to install! I will try to update this post in the future to let you know how long this bulb ends up lasting for me. UPDATE: This bulb ended up lasting 20 months in my TV. Buying another one to replace my old one. I hope that is helpful to others. UPDATE 2: 2nd bulb replacement lasted 40 months in my TV. Replacing it in my Sony projection TV yet again in 5/2020. Update 3: 3rd bulb replacement only lasted almost 11 months in my TV. I'm now replacing the bulb in my Sony projection TV in 3/2020. Would purchase again even though this last one didn't last as long as the others. Update 4: 4th bulb replacement only lasted 11 months. I'm purchasing again (Jan 2022) to keep this TV going.

Someone in my son's apartment building discarded a big-screen tv; the only thing wrong with it was the lamp. It took fifty dollars and about five minutes of labor for him to have a good-as-new tv in his apartment. You may think that your big expensive appliance is irreparable once something dies, but sometimes it's as cheap and easy as this. The unit plugs right in-- a chimp could fix a tv with this piece. And it works just a beautifully as if the unit had just rolled out of the factory.

Update 5/25/18- the bulb officially burned out today, lasting not even 3 months! The replacement they sent also smells like chemicals! Do NOT buy this bulb, complete waste of time and money. The first one smelt like chemicals and plastic when hot, bulb worked great though. I reported the smell and the company sent me another free of charge, works even better with little odor, thanks

so glad they make these. I would have had to dump a tv twice now without this replacement bulb option. easy to install and tv works like new afterward. Overall design flaw with tvs using this lamp as they always wear out. I have had the TV 10 years and I am on my third lamp. Starting to notice slower start up so it will probably go out in the next year. I have had this lamp about 2 years

I'm not a market analyst, but I projected that rear projection TVs would have weathered the HD platform storm. I obviously would have lost that bet. My reasons for backing the rear projection TV were simple. 1. Everyone would not be willing to wall mount. 2. Rear projections could be easily repaired. 3. Rear projects gave a lot of screen for a lower price. I took the plunge with my rear projection TV choosing Sony as my manufacturer. I chose Sony as I believed their rear projection tech was superior. I purchased a 60" Sony rear projection, and some time later my mother purchased a 55" Sony rear projection. Circumstances forced me to let my 60" go. My mom moved recently. Her new place couldn't support a large screen. Furthermore, the screen of the 55" went out. Mom said I could have it if I could fix. I bought the bulb here on Amazon. Within a few quick mins without any instruction, I had the 55" up and running. I may buy another bulb as a backup. Rear projection TVs weren't without their faults, but a quick and easy bulb swap still makes for an attractive feature.

Perfect exactly what I've order

I bought two of these bulbs for my Sony and the first one never got rid of the "your bulb is at end of life" message. I tried reseating, removing and unplugging tv for a couple of hours and pressing and holding the power button for over a minute, then reinserting and restarting the tv with no discernable difference. The image on the tv was dimmer than it should be and wouldn't brighten at all with the set brightness turned all the way up. When I installed the second bulb after powering down, unplugging and pressing and holding the power button for over a minute and then waiting for an hour or two when I powered up the set I got no "end of life" message. However when we turned it on the next evening the message returned. I am at a loss as to the next step. Bulbs can be made available for testing if desired.

Doesn't work. Right size and everything just gives my tv the red light of death. You have to get a small piece of 3m tape on one of the bottom corners to get it to trigger a switch that recognizes a light bulb has been installed.

Product quality is very poor, it is failed just in 15 days of working. Also Amazon's replacement warranty policy is only fake & fake.
