I have a farm machine shop and we make a lot of 1-off custom products for local farmers and our own farm. Often there is a small spring in a piece of 70 year old equipment that breaks or fails and no one sells the part because…reasons. Just find your core size, slot one end and put it in a drill and guide the wire into a smooth coil. Bake for 20 minutes at 400F (seriously…you have to do this to temper the coil into the wire) and you have a spring as good as the manufacturer intended. This works for anywhere a spring is useful. Be sure aand buy the right size wire…not all size wires work for all springs..it can be a bit sciency.

Not the easiest to bend but tough stuff. Price seems to be rising on it though so I would grab a few lbs when it goes on sale. Really good stuff for bending wire for magazines.

I was looking for a stiff wire which could flex and still hold its shape, and that is exactly what this wire does. It is hard and springy, but can be permanently shaped with enough force.

I make all sorts of springs out of this stuff. Very handy

Wire is all twisted around itself so I can't dispense it. Need to take it out of the box and try to keep it contained while unraveling the wire that is looped through itself multiple times. Won't be buying this brand again.
