It was hard to find reviews specifically for the strawberry blonde henna, especially ones that applied to my situation. My hair was strawberry blonde all through my youth, but as I've gotten older, it's faded and turned lighter and more dull, like a washed out ash blonde. Since it's below shoulder legth, I used 2 packets, and followed the directions to the letter (I did add about a teaspoon of olive oil for moisture and some lavender oil to combat the grassy smell). I even did my eyebrows. I covered my hair with the plastic cap, spraying my eyebrows with rose water occasionally, throughout the 3-hour setting process, to keep the henna moist, since I didn't want to cover them, and risk staining my skin. Three hours later, the color is just as I hoped, which is surprising, since the sample patch test I did didn't look any different at all. It may get deeper or brighter over the coming days, which I've read that henna does, but I won't know until time passes. I'll add on to this review if it's dramatic or worse, but right now, I'm pleased. And the process really wasn't that much more work or mess than regular chemical dyes. Oh, yeah... my hair has been dyed with box dyes for DECADES. I hadn't colored for at least a month before using the henna though. I had never used henna before, and the learning curve wasn't steep at all. It was all pretty common sense; follow directions, and protect from getting stained by wearing gloves and cleaning areas that get henna on them that you don't want colored. It's a little redder than my younger natural color, but I did leave it on extra long, because I was worried that it wouldn't be noticeably different. I'm not unhappy with the result at all. My only suggestion is to maybe buy a pair of surgical gloves to use, because the ones in the kit are really thin and brittle, and they split easily. Since I had the 2 kits, I had an extra pair for application, which I reused for the washing out process, but I wished I had a good pair of latex gloves. FYI: The photo shows part of my hair straightened, so you can see how evenly the color took. Since henna doesn't lighten hair, you have to have a light base color to work with, or all it will do is stain. This seems like a safe brand to start out with, because there are fewer steps in the process, and it's so finely ground, even the rinse-out is surprisingly easy. I think I'll probably continue using this brand of henna. I like how natural and healthy henna is, and this is the best strawberry blonde I've found since Revlon Color Silk stopped making theirs. UPDATE: The color did seem to deepen a little bit over the last couple of days. It's also a bit more orangey, but not in a bad way. When I dye with chemical dyes, the first few days are always kind of off color; too bright/too coppery/too pinky-orange, etc. This is no worse, and maybe a little better. I'm still a henna fan. I'm so glad I tried this out! I just dyed my hair strawberry blonde yesterday with great results. (See before and after pictures below.) I'm never going back to chemical dyes again. My hair was getting so damaged that I knew I needed to make a change. This is a great brand of henna to use because it's pure henna, with no metal or salt additives. Many pre-mixed henna dyes can have these in them, and can make the color results unpredictable, especially if your hair is already chemically treated (they can turn bleached hair green--yep). It's very easy to use--just mix into a paste with warm, distilled water and apply (I ran some distilled water through my small coffee pot). Then wrap your hair in cling wrap and a towel. People complain about the mess, but I actually found it to be less messy than my old chemical dyes, because the paste isn't as runny and it doesn't drip all over the place. People also complain about the smell--yes, it smells very grassy, herbal, and earthy. I actually like the smell, but it does get old toward the end of the developing time. Success! This will be my go-to color now. I can even use all of my natural oil-based conditioners and not worry about the color fading. When I used chemical dyes, I had to avoid coconut oil for two weeks because it would strip my hair color away, thus limiting my conditioning options. I washed my henna "mud beehive" away with a sulfate-free shampoo, and then followed up with a jojoba-based cleansing conditioner and a macadamia oil hair mask. My hair is now smooth, soft, and free of tangles--AND the color is still vibrant! It's a totally different story from when I used chemical dyes. Never again!

This product worked very well except that it turned my hair carrot orange, not strawberry blonde. I sorta expected that since it's henna, but it's much redder than expected. Just a warning to any future buyers, it may turn you into a redhead.

I'm a natural redhead, born with coppery, shiny hair - I'm now in my 50's, and after a triple whammy of chemo, menopause and CV-19, my hair started falling out and fading - I lost about 1/2 of my hair volume within about 2 months. I switched to a biotin shampoo, started taking collagen, and a friend recommended using henna to brighten my hair and give it a little thickness. I've always been nervous to try any type of color on my hair, but I figured it couldn't hurt that much. I really didn't want to try and do it myself because it looks very messy and time-consuming. I actually found a hair-stylist who applied it for me and sat me under a heat lamp for 45 minutes. It turned out beautifully! I finally started to feel like my old self. I now go back to her about every 3-4 months to get it applied - it's been a little over a year and I've used this product 4 times - it fades very slowly and naturally, so I'm extremely happy with the results.

As a natural redhead, I've used henna to brighten up my hair after sun damage. This is the first time I've ever had a product say it could turn my hair purple which is not what I want at all. Unfortunately it doesn't state this until you open up the package and pull out the instructions. Not sure if I can send it back because I had to open up the package. Will not buy this brand again. May be okay for a tattoo.

Okay, I went from my natural strawberry blonde to blonde over a month ago. I have about an inch of natural strawberry blonde roots. I never used henna before and thought it'd be more natural looking. Now, there wasn't any instructions on how much water to put in which means I learned I needed more water once I was applying and it wasn't easy. Luckily didn't stain my skin at all. Or my 22mo at all she helped lol The photo looks okay but don't let it fool you... That was before the wash WITH shampoo & in the window lighting. I WISH IT LOOKED LIKE THE PHOTO Now, it didn't do much but darken my roots & I'd hoped it blended better. Idk how you're supposed to do root touch ups bc my roots are a natural strawberry blonde. They shouldn't be so hard to cover but what if you have darker natural hair? After the shampoo it looks like I colored my hair orange like I did in highschool with kool aid bc I was too poor to buy real hair color. Looks ridiculous with these dark roots. It doesn't damage hair but its dull dry and sad not shiny orange. I was very excited to do this and im bummed now This is NOT strawberry blonde btw. I know getting natural strawberry blonde in a bottle is hard but orange is NOT IT.

As I started graying, chemical dyes started making my hair feel more coarse, so this was my experiment to try and get my hair back to its natural texture and still pretend to be a red head. Going on two years now of using this product exclusively. The specific mixture I use is half of a bag of Strawberry Blonde, 3 level tablespoons of Natural Red, and mix with warm water ONLY until it resembles brownie batter. I’d like to share some tips. First and foremost, this should only be applied to WET HAIR for best results. As with any coloring process, cover those roots thoroughly. Once applied, I wrap my whole head/neck hair/eyebrows with Press and Seal or cling wrap to let set. It only has to set for 30 minutes if your hair was wet to start. This stuff will not dye your hair if it dries. Keep it covered to keep it wet. Adding vinegar strips your hair. Don’t do it. (I did it.) Going forward, you’ll only have to add color to your roots. This red doesn’t fade. Look at my ends. They’re still a different shade of red from when I was experimenting two years ago. That being said, pick a color you’ll be happy to be stuck with for a long time. My grays are a brighter gingery red, and my light brown hair is a very natural shade of red. My hair feels way more healthy than it did with chemicals. I get lots of compliments about my “pretty red hair” and lots of questions about who I got my red hair from and if my kids got my red hair. It’s a hit!

Adquirí el tono cobrizo, y aunque si me tiñó el cabello en una parte de ese tono, no me agradó porque la raíz de mi cabello que es 3 cm se ve más negra de lo normal. Eso quiere decir que este producto tiñe muy bien, si el cabello es rubio, si no es en vano tiñe como cualquier henna es por eso que no le puse los cinco puntos. Para la siguiente adquiero mejor la henna natural y me sigo teniendo el cabello de un rubio, claro me sale más económico. Si la pregunta es el producto cumple, diría yo que no.
