DIY Dyson Fix for DC40, DC41, and DC50 Models
I picked up a Dyson that someone was tossing out, wrapped in that ugly grey duct tape because they were tired of finicking with it. Funny coincidence—I ordered the wrong part at first, but it turned out to be a win because my vacuum actually needed both hoses inside the ball. Both the DC40 and DC41 use the same hose, so this works for either model. This hose was a little more difficult to install than the red one, so I followed a YouTube video that guided me step by step. If you’re not technically inclined, I’d recommend doing both hoses at the same time—it makes the process smoother. Once installed, the fit is exact, suction is back to full strength, and it feels great giving a second life to something that was headed for the trash.

Changeover hose fit ok.
Good price; seems to be OEM part. Fit just fine and brought the DC40 vacuum back to life. Took a bit of time to install and this vacuum design does not make it too easy but it was possible. Time will tell how long it lasts. Thank you.

Worked to repair my Dyson!
This fit perfectly. At first the change over was not sealing well every time, but I found that I had over-tighted the screws a bit. After an adjustment, the vacuum was working perfectly!

Highly recommended
Other than the item being delivered at my neighbor’s front door, the item itself worked very well. Now, my dead Dyson vacuum is alive again. Item was exactly what I needed. Beats buying a new vacuum!

FIX THIS ISSUE YOURSELF!!!
What a find! Without this part I would have had to throw out a very expensive vacuum. The cost for the part alone completely fixed my issue. I would say it is better than NEW! The suction is where it used to be. So glad I did the research. Hope to have this DYSON for another 15+ years!

Fits and works as expected
Ordered on 12th Feb and received today here in sunny Singapore, so proceeded to change it out . Once a few torx screws and clip come out you can replace this easily. 10 year old Dyson DC40 Animal did it's job perfectly as I vacuumed the house today. Wife is happy that the floor and carpet is clean after nearly 1 week. Happy wife, happy life.
