Yes these are small, but the dimensions are listed in the product description, so I don’t know why some reviewers are surprised by the size. I agree that for very thick hair they are probably not the best choice, however for fine or thin hair they are absolutely perfect. Seeing as most hair products cater to thick luscious hair, it’s nice to finally have something for us baby fine hair girlies. These are on the pricy side but, wow they are high quality and beautiful. They are definitely not cheap looking or feeling. They hold my fine hair back perfect and also go great in updos. They help to add volume and dimension by holding the hair in place, but not down flat. I love them and will be buying them in every color. Made in France.

I love these side combs! They are so beautiful and function so well. I wear side combs all the time but I’ve always had the larger ones. These 1” are much better than I expected and work well. They are more flexible than the ‘cheap’ ones and worth the price if you wear side combs as much as I do. I have ordered the larger size too and delivery is today. The function and beauty of this ‘onyx’ color is amazing. Love!!!

These are not as wide as most combs, BUT I felt the difference in quality immediately. The material they use is very smooth, so there is NO concern over damaging your hair with a rough plastic edge. The tongs are a bit flexible, but tight together, so they stay put as soon as you put them in. These are a higher quality than many of the combs out there and don't feel like the tongs will easily break off. While I normally go for a less expensive comb, I don't mind that these are more than I would have normally spent, because I fell the quality of what I got was worth the cost. Absolutely recommend. I have relatively fine hair and and a bit more than average amount of hair.

Update I’ve only had them about a month. Noticing they don’t stay put as well, especially if my hair gets oilier. One of the teeth is starting to go out of alignment. I’ve had them for almost a week. I have lots of thick hair that is medium length. I find the size is good because if they were any larger, they would stick out from your hair. The hold is good for a workday. On the weekends, I notice if I shift around more, lay down and get back up, or am wearing a hat or helmet, I do need to re-pin them. Highly recommend watching a tutorial for anyone that is having trouble getting them to stay. I definitely notice the quality in the product itself and would consider buying their other products in the future. Will update the review if they do end up breaking.

I wish the description said that these are less than 2 inches in width, I didn't see it if it did though I checked. I think they are lovely little combs, but they are still just plastic. I was not a fan of paying almost $20 for 3m inches of plastic. I have thick dense hair, they work fine for a little while, but I would definitely prefer a wider comb. I would purchase another set that was wider but I wouldn't purchase this exact one again.

I got the small combs to hold back one side of my hair. These are absolutely exquisite. They come beautifully packaged. Though small, they hold my hair in place just perfectly. They are strong and nicely made.

Buy 3 sizes.- 1 1/2, 2.75 & 3in I think these are. Worth it! My hair is so transformed. Finally figured out this is what I needed to hold my fine but abundant hair off my face gracefully. J'adore these French combs, quality material and absolutely hold.

Very nice looking. Great hold. Exact size that I was looking for (med). I don't think that I would find these in a retail store.

The two combs are absolutely gorgeous and are a quality product. They are not large but suitable to keep hair back and hold in place. They may not be suitable for course thick hair but are great for thick fine hair. I highly recommend this product.
