I am a catastrophe insurance adjuster and have been using telescope ladders for accessing roofs. This product will allow me to carry a 28 ft extension ladder to use on two story buildings. By placing the ladder on top of the closed tailgate and using an additional ratch strap attached to the trailer hitch the closed 28 ft extension extends less than 30" from the rear of the truck and less than 12" above the cab. I have hailed the ladder this way with no problems. I have already recommended this product to adjuster associates as well as a couple of contractors. I just wish I would have had this years ago when I was a contractor.

It works great as advertised
It works great as advertised. It's not worth dinging the maker on ratings, but I think they could improve it on the next go around by making the right angle adjustable. On my truck if I ratchet down the strap too much the roof begins to push in. You don't need to ratchet down hard to hold it but it would be nice to be able to put a little more tension on it. An adjustable angle would be a bonus.

Beats a folded up moving blanket, any day of the week!
I've been looking for a solution such as this for some time. I was teetering with getting a bed rack for my 2500hd, but didn't want that permanent fixture. This thing is built very well, and is thoughtfully designed. For long lumber, metal, ladders, whatever...a cab saver! Beats a folded up moving blanket any day of the week!
