Celerity Technologies DFO-40P Fiber Optic HDMI Cable, 40 Foot

I selected this fiber cable as alternative to typical HDMI cables because of slim dimensions of the cable and connectors that fished through walls, ceilings, and hanging mounting bracket.

I received the Celerity cable and tried to use it around my house. It worked in some case, and failed completely (black screen) in others. The cable is just not reliable at all. Even in cases where it worked, the USB power connector was a bit flaky. I would have to unplug and re-plug it to get it working. After googling some, I found that may experience with this cable was typical. The reviewer below also found taht it didn't work about half the time. [...]

My installer used these since I needed a 60 ft. run and that was too far for an HDMI cable. I have a Sony VPLVW1100 projector and I needed the bandwidth for a 4K signal (from the FMP-X1 media player and hopefully additional 4K sources in the near future). So far, they have performed flawlessly. Their specs say they can be transmit a 4K signal @60 Hz up to 1000 ft. The cables do require a power source at the receiving end but not at the transmit end.So far very happy and I'll post if anything changes since I have only been using for about a month.

I'm using a 100' cable that runs from a Marantz AV7701 up 2 floors through walls (in PVC conduit) into the attic, across the attic over the great room, into another PVC conduit outside, down alongside the fireplace, and back into the house to a Panasonic P65ZT60. Equipment is out of sight. Works seamlessly including ARC. Very high spousal approval factor. However, very delicate. Do not apply tension!
