I was skeptical about what I thought I was going to receive when I placed my order, because of the low price, but I took a chance and was pleasantly surprised at how well these work. I have a wood work-table I got tired of sliding around on the floor, and I was considering taking it apart to make room for something better. These retractable wheels made that old table into an indispensable mobile workstation. They hold a good amount of weight, roll relatively easy across an old garage floor, and retract out of the way when you want the table to be stable. great deal.

Works well supports weight

I wanted casters on one of my workbenches so I can roll it out of my shop when I am grinding a lot of material and don't want all the debris and spark residue to cleanup afterwards. But I wanted to avoid having the casters supporting the full weight of the bench all of the time. These type of design is just what I wanted. I really liked the idea, but wasn't sure if my expectations would meet reality. I would have to say that these are not perfect, but they do work as designed. Installation was fairly straightforward, and I did not have any issues with the supplied screws as some others have. Not sure if that is dependent on the material you are fastening these to, or if the quality of the hardware itself has been improved. Instructions were not great...I ended up installing upside down the silver plate that the caster bolts into. And immediately knew something was wrong when it wasn't working. Came back to the product description here with much better pictures, and it was very apparent where i went wrong. Some better printed instructions would have helped avoid that. But not a deal breaker. The lever to move the caster up and down works without a lot of pressure, but no so loose as to feel 'flimsy'. Overall I am happy with the purchase.

These casters work as described and the build quality is very good. Unfortunately, they’re not for me. I’ll be swapping them out as soon as replacement Bennington Manufacturing retractable casters arrive because I too frequently catch my feet on the protruding levers. This may not be a major issue for most, but it’s a big inconvenience for me.

Product was actually very dood. Even better than expected. Good functionality and easy to install.

I used these on a base (imagine a tiny sandbox) that I built for my band saw. It's in the barn on a fairly flat floor. Good thing because the base is up perhaps an inch off the floor. I.e. Really uneven floors or sudden changes in elevation can cause problems. Apart from that, it works to lift up my saw so I can roll it around and then plop the base onto the floor. I try to raise 2 adjacent casters simultaneously to avoid warping the base I made. It also helps to avoid putting most of the weight on one caster even temporarily. Also, I wasn't comfortable using wood screws to hold the weight so I used nuts & bolts to fasten the casters. They work really well. I totally ignored the diagram for how high to attach it on the item's side or legs. It's better to mount them at 90 degree angle to the ground, to get full extension when the wheels are engaged. Since your tool or item won't be moving with the wheels up, clamp it to the side of your movable with the wheels completely up but touching the floor. Then mark & drill your holes for mounting. If you're not handy, follow their diagram, I guess but still figure out a way to mount it at a right angle since the casters don't raise your tool or item that much to begin with.

I really like these wheels! My workbench is about 400 pounds and moves with ease once I have it raised on the casters. The casters are heavy duty, as well as the mounting hardware. I didn't use the screws to mount the frame to the legs, as they seemed to be too small for the weight (I'm thinking how they would have held up after a few years of use). So I opted to get 1/4" lag screws that are 2" long instead. I know that might be a bit of overkill, but I know they will not rip out. But other than that, I am quite pleased with this caster set. Very good value! I looked at a set of casters that were rated at 330 pounds and cost 3 times as much. They could not have been any better than these.

Excellent parts-really heavy duty. No instructions came in the box contrary to the product listing on Amazon. Granted, there are only 4 main parts and two sets of 4 long hinge bolts (slightly different lengths) each for the lever and the caster plate along with related nuts. Also, 4 nuts for mounting the casters. Assembly was frustrating because i used the wrong long bolts in the mounting holes first time. Also, mounting the casters was a challenge because the threaded spindle swung around freely even though I instructions to hold the spinning collar with my fingers. Later I realized that the second wrench could be used to stabilize the spinning bolt. Instructions would have made assembly a breeze. When matching against hardware quality the lack of instructions was a real bummer - and I still have to mount the units to the bench with exact (missing) directions. That said I would buy these again because of the build - and I’m learning in real time how to assemble and install.

Die Rollen und die Hebemechanik sind wirklich gut! Die mitgelieferten Schrauben 5x30 (oder so) mit Kreuzantrieb mögen in Weichholz funktionieren, bei einer Hobelbank aus Buche hatte ich trotz passendem Vorbohren wenig Erfolg. Also lieber ein paar 6x40 (je nach Dicke der Beine mehr oder weniger Länge) Torx besorgen und die ollen Kreuzschrauben dahin werfen, wo sie hingehören.
