I can't recall the last time I have given a five-star review for any product purchased on Amazon. With so many different vendors, very brief and non-specific descriptions and the multitude of issues related to products manufactured in China... there is almost no chance to say "this is exactly what I expected". Well, this item is exactly what I expected! It is a low-cost, rotary engraver with carbide tippedd burrs. It functions perfectly, fits nicely in one's hand and easily engraves / edges every material I've encountered including chrome. They obviously made a judgment call regarding the size whether to use AAA or AA batteries. My preference would be to go larger for better battery life. But I can't argue with the fact that it fits the hand perfectly. The end of the battery housing has a custom molded grip with the momentary on power switch. With the present size, it can be held very much like a pen. So I think they made the right call.

This engraver is great. It is lightweight very easy to hold & to use. I have tried it on almost every material there is, plastic, metal, plexiglass, some kind of foamy material that I don't know the name of & it works great. Wish I had more stuff to engrave.

This was a gift for my sister to use to mark her metal dies for paper crafting. Works Ok sometimes you have to move it around to get it to turn on.

An engraver of this style that doesn't jump all over the place...I have used many and most are a hindrance because of bulk and motor...let's face it you are not going to write well unless you firstly have good penmanship, that being said the next thing is something that feels more like a writing tool...this is it...light and great control with the finger button...I hope it lasts, because I plan to use it a lot...I engrave my leather knife sheaths and this works so fine.. and the extra tips...wow what a deal...(no Im not a paid commenter,,just so delighted to find such an excellent product..do hope it holds up,

People, save your money, this product does not work. I purchased this engraver on June 13 of this year, it was my plan to engrave the bottom of 2 wind chimes. I recently suffered the death of my baby brother and my oldest son, I wanted to do the chimes as a memorial for them, but as I was grieving the loss so hard I just could not try to do it until yesterday. When I tried to use the engraver it would not work, My husband tried several different sets of batteries but it just did not work. It is too late for me to return it, but it is not to late to spare you from this terrible purchase.

I love this engraving pen. It is lightweight, easy to control and was at a great price! They sent extra tips and that gave me pause at first that they would break easily. But the tips held up! I highly recommend.

It worked great for a week or 2 then just stopped working I've replaced the batterys multiple times so it's not the batterys. But up till then if worked great etching on glass and wood.
