Fireworks Vase Former Slumping Mold, Large

Versatile mold.
I like stainless steel molds. They are a bit tricky to kiln wash so I also use a sheet of thin fire paper between the glass and the mold as an extra insurance the glass won't stick during fusing. Can make short or tall vases/candle holders using this mold. Given the cost of molds it's great to find one that has multiple uses.

Kiln wash is key!
To be successful using this mold, you MUST apply several layers of kiln wah. I put the mold on top of my kiln while it was running, and applied three or four layers, letting each one dry completely. I also use thin fire shelf paper between the mold and the glass. I love the shape of my vases, and I now own several of this style mold.

Great results!
Although the vase mold turned coppery after firing, it did a great job on two pieces I have done so far. Follow directions for getting kiln wash to stick to it. I read directions after I tried to brush wash on and found it repelling the wash. Then I read the directions---and then it was easy!!!

works great, have produced a good number of pieces with this slump mold. Just don't forget to have some type of mold release!
