Nice HDR and 4k
A great TV with a very easy operating system and innovative control. The 4k and HDR are very good for the price range and as the cheapest nano cell TV available it is a good entry level to a more expensive line by LG. The TV however only has a 50hz refresh rate which isn't best suited for next gen console use. The low refresh rate can cause ghosting when light images move quickly across dark back grounds. Would highly recommend for TV watching and streaming but not as a next gen console monitor.

What a difference
I purchased a 40 inch smart Panasonic nearly 5 years ago and I wished from the day of purchase I had gone bigger. Well I have now but that is only half the story ,well not even that. The picture on SD is clear, HD TV be it Freeview or Freesat is fantastic, Blue Ray is even better and then I get onto stuff on the web that is HD or 4K unbelievable. Now I know that flat screen TV's and sound is an issue but not here even without my sound bar. It is so clear and if I use my sound bar it is even better. I have watched all sorts including my favourite the 70's police drama The Sweeney on ITV4 (SD) and is like watching a DVD. Will have to get my box sets out and enjoy them again .For the money I think you would be a fool to buy anything else.

Great image quality
This tv is an odd-sized 50" diagonal rather than the more common 49" This might make comparisons with other models of a different size tricky. But if necessary, pay the extra to get this instead of a 49" model. 49" is very close to 1.25m, which might be why it's popular in the metric market, 55" is equally close to 1.40m, so not sure if 50" at 1.27m is just a size aimed at countries still on the old feet and inches scales - the US and UK. The image quality from directly in front of it is great, blacks are black and not dark grey for example, and fine details in HD channels are excellent. Closeups of a face show lots of details. The quality decreases as you move to the side, and at 45degrees left and right of centre it has dropped noticeably. The same is true if you walk up to the screen - which means the vertical 45degree view is not as good, so don't mount it high on a wall to look up at. I have it sitting on a small table and by a bit of luck centre screen is at head level, so I get all the quality. These viewing angles are not a real problem unless you have a big family spread around the room trying to watch tv. But from the front and centre seats, it is really good! I had problems with the screen flashing for several minutes when first switched on, but I found I had a spare never used HDMI cable that was still wrapped up, and swapping to that totally removed the problem. So bare this in mind if yours flashes a lot at start-up. It's the cable that's at fault, as some online sites suggested. The magic controller is pretty good, a quick wave left and right, and the pointer appears on the screen, ready to use like a big mouse controller. Like almost every TV, there are several colour settings and a bit of fine-tuning works wonders. Avoid the "Vivid" mode - I've never seen a tv that benefitted from the glaring vivid mode. And my Amazon FireStick gives some excellent image quality, as do Youtube videos that are in 4K mode. I've added my id info for BBC iPlayer too and that works well too. But I can't get it to accept my amazon settings, hence the use of the FireStick. It keeps taking me to Amazon USA to add them, which doesn't seem to like my UK username and password. Overall I am very pleased with this TV, and the value for money is excellent. Bigger models and some other manufacturers nearest equivalent model can cost a lot more. As you are going to spend your time looking at the screen, it is always best to pay for quality screens, and this one is good. It's surprisingly light to move around. Not bulky at all.

Best operating system on any tv apart from program interface
Excellent os. Best in class when paired with the magic remote it comes with. However be careful as the tv guide for Freeview is extremely slow and it is a problem with lg tvs. If you dont use an external tv box and watch alot of aerial programs, the slow interface in the guide will annoy you. However everything else is excellent. Colours are bright and blacks are very black. Sound is as good as u can get this price point for inbuilt speakers. So go for it if you just watch aerial now and again, especially if u will mainly use an external tv box or netflix/amazon prime/YouTube. Best tv out there.
