CrossEasy Writer Ballpoint Pen - Matte Black

My five star rating is based on the $17.49 price I paid for this pen. It is more comfortable to write with than my Century, and has a decent amount of weight to it. Does the mechanism operate as smoothly as my made in US Cross Century from 1990? No, but it is smooth enough. There is a nice feeling that the pen locks in place when it is fully opened. I don’t carry my Century in my shirt pocket for fear of losing it or having it “accidentally” taken by someone else. The Cross Easy Writer is a nice pen that for this price I can carry everyday.

This is my go-to pen: with some arthritis and carpel tunnel issues, this pen is well balanced, the ink flows without blotching and is dark and consistent, and the rubber grip is soft to keep the hand relaxed. I keep one on my desk, in my purse, and in my briefcase. Well worth the investment. I had thought my most recent purchase, to replace one missing in action, was lost during delivery, but it did turn up and was delayed due to no fault of Amazon or the seller. Would recommend the product, the seller, and Amazon.

The grip area is nice and straight, not super squishy but not hard as steel. The balance is really nice, and I like that it has some weight but not so much that it FEELS heavy. I started using a Cross pen because it was a pen I picked up at a hotel and I loved the way it wrote but the steel slick taper made it wear on my finger and slide in my hand over time. This pen gives me the same writing (uses the same cartridge) but gets rid of the slick sliding feeling and is not so painful after 30 minutes of use.

I've had Cross pen in the past. I like this pen better. Because of the substantial weight, and the thickness of the grip part of the pen, you can really get a good handle on it. The smooth writing ink is just like what Cross writing implements are famous for. I can see my self ordering another one. One for home and one for work. It's really a great looking pen !!!!

Nice pen at a pleasant price. I find that Cross ballpoint ink cartridges give me less problems with smudges and write smoother than their competitors. I am glad that standard Cross ballpoint ink cartridges for the more expensive pens are also used in this less expensive pen. I hope the rubber grip on this model holds up over time time, and I fear the pocket clip on this model may damage shirt pockets more than those on the more expensive Cross pens, but I like the price since I tend to lose pens more often than I wish.

Quality declined-Cheap feel of the cross pens. They feel like tin cans. When twisting the pens to access the ink is not a smooth one. Buy something else.

As the owner of multiple Cross pens and pencils, this is absolutely my favorite. This is, by far, the most comfortable Cross pen I have ever used in more than 30 years of using their products. It is easy to hold and perfectly balanced. It does use the typical Cross pen refill, so nothing has changed in that respect. But it's ease of use has put it at the top of my list. The price is affordable and it also looks great. A very nice pen!

Okay l it is a good pen, writes well. What I expected was a CROSS pen, you know heavy smooth function of the mechanism, but what the pen turned out to be was just another Chinese manufactured device of a once envied product.
