Will these quickly cut through heavily matted long hair cat fur ?

These are really loud. Fire them up and the cat will be gone for a good long time. Seeing as cat hide is not very thick and the blades are huge, I would not even wander towards a cat with these in my hands. A pair of pointy and sharp scissors would be a better choice for a matted longhair ... slice the mats into smaller mats (90 degrees to the hide) and then remove individual small pieces ... if your cat will let you that is.
