Powerful suction for a lightweight vacuum
This is my second Shark vacuum cleaner - I thought the first one did a good job, but this one does a great job. The suction is incredibly powerful for such a lightweight vacuum. It does a good job getting up dust and pet hair, too. The self-propelled feature is also powerful, maybe a bit too powerful because it wants to move quickly. The cord length is ample. I wish it had more tools - it only comes with three. I have used the removable handheld vacuum as well as the floor stick - both are easy to use. My only minor complaint is that the dust bin is a little more difficult to empty - the release lever doesn't open and automatically "dump" the contents. You have to pull the cup open which requires two hands. I do recommend this item.

Good lightweight vacuum cleaner
What I like most about the vacuum cleaner is that you can switch from hard surfaces to carpet/rug with the touch of a switch. This is a powerful, lightweight vacuum cleaner that does a good job of cleaning. I bought it so I can quickly vacuum the kitchen floor, family room floor and area rug, and hallways in between more thorough cleaning with my more powerful canister vacuum cleaner. The dust cup is easy to remove and empty into a trash can which I could not do with my previous shark rocket. There are 3 things I don't like: the dust cup is very small and requires frequent emptying because of its size; the vacuum is not free standing when not in use so must either be leaned against a wall etc. or laid on the floor; the flexible hose in the base of the machine (floor nozzle) is a weak point. I had to toss my previous Shark because it split and that was the only thing that was wrong with that machine. I was very reluctant to purchase another Shark product because of this and because it has odd sized 'screws' holding the floor nozzle together, so that it cannot be removed by the consumer. I do not want a cordless machine and until someone makes a cordless machine that actually has a decent run time, I will not buy one. Overall, I am very happy with the machine. One note of caution: I purchased this machine at a great price, at least so I thought. I NEVER purchase extended warranties except for major appliances. Somehow, I don't know how, but I was charged for a 5 year warranty which I did not authorize so it was sneakily added on. When I read the warranty limitations, it is doubtful that if the machine fails, the manufacturer will honor the warranty because it's basically for manufacturing defects and not wear/tear of the vacuum cleaner. I was charged $40.96 for a warranty. I looked at Amazon's warranty and it seems their warranty is only for 3 years maximum. I believe Shark added the warranty because I believe I purchased from the Shark store.......so buyer beware.

This is a nice lightweight, stick vacuum
I've used this vacuum for several weeks now and think that for the price it's a very good performer. It works well on carpets and hard surface floors. It has very good suction. And I like that I can easily remove a section of the stick too shorten the vac to use on the stairs. Overall I would says it's a well built and good performing vacuum. As for the cons of this vacuum: the dirt canister seems a bit small so that I end up emptying it fairly often. And being a light weight vac with a lot of it's weight up near the handle, it seems that when pulling it back towards you when you are vacuuming, it's easy to lift the vacuum head unit off the carpet. I can live with the first item because it's not hard to empty or clean out the dirt canister. And if I slow myself down I can keep the vacuum head in contact with the carpet all the time. I can live with these issues considering the overall performance of the vac versus the price. If I had paid Dyson money I would return it. But it's doing a good job for me at a bargain price. I'm happy with my purchase.

BEST VACUUM CLEANER I'VE EVER OWNED! LOVE IT.
NEW this model, in the Blue had everything I wanted in a vacuum and sells here at Amazon for $282. plus tax. I found this exact model for LESS in the Amazon Warehouse for only $173. plus tax. It was marked as either as Very Good or Like New, and came in the original box. This means someone used it and didn't like it and returned it during their window of time. I read TONS of reviews before choosing this Brand, Shark, and this Model, the Vertex. I did not want a cordless because I don't want to be waiting around for it to charge. I wanted the power of a corded model. Lately I have bought several Items from Amazon from their Warehouse. ALL of them have been like NEW and no one would know they were ever opened up or maybe used a few times. These items for some unknown reason though, DO take a LOT longer BEFORE they leave the warehouse and ship. Once they ship they usually arrive very quickly. I could not afford to buy this model NEW so I was willing to wait, in my case about a month to get this deal. Pros: I could not be happier. This vacuum far exceeds what I had expected. It is SO powerful and so strong. It does a great job of vacuuming both carpet and hard flooring. I have used it to get tons of cat fur off the walls which was one of the reasons I bought it. With 4 indoor only cats the fur is everywhere. It's easy to use and I love not having to buy bags. Cons: The not so great? Well, it IS loud, but I'm used to that. It's heavier than I wanted, so I have to take more breaks to give my arm a rest. The worst thing about it is how hot the motor gets. I don't know if this is a design flaw or a bad unit? Knowing all the cons I would STILL buy this particular vacuum. Compared to pushing around a much heavier, bulkier upright body this is still considered a lightweight Vacuum Stick but rivals any full size vacuum I've ever used. Could not be happier at the deal and the item.

This Vacuum Cleaner will need to be replaced over a few years.
I bought this vacuum cleaner in 2022 for $290. I initialing loved it as it handled my shag area rugs and floors. I loved the light on the floor device. It seemed efficient, easy to use, and very convenient to use. In less than a year I had to replace the duo clean power fin brush roll even while it was under warranty, as this part was not covered for $52.00. While using the Shark, the power would stop as it seemed to overheat. I had to turn it off for 45 minutes until it decided to work again. This was very annoying. I bought $60 worth of filters and changed them regularly. In 2025 the motor seemed to make loud noise frequently and I had to turn it off an wait for it to work again. This happened frequently enough to annoy me and interrupt my cleaning. Finally the noise got so bad and the motor started to smell. It actually burnt out the rotors, I am assuming. I researched online and it had a warning that it could start a fire. The horrible sound became permanent and I now have to buy a new vacuum cleaner. In the early 1980's I bought a Miele canister that was expensive for my budget, but it now still works while several accessories have been replaced. It does not handle my area shag rugs very well, as it was the older stye for bare floors. I am now going to buy a Miele Blizzard CX1 bagless, for $599. 00, that will handle the shag rug. I should have bought this back in 2022, but I wanted to save money. I still want to save money but I have gone through numerous vacuum cleaners over time and all died, except for the Miele. Lesson learned the Miele is excellent German engineering and I should have bought this years ago, as an upgrade to carpeted floors.

Wow. I mean WOW!!!
I am blown away by the performance of this vacuum. I have vacuum on each floor of my 3 story house (don’t judge, I’m in my 60s—they’re awkward and heavy on stairs). I have a Sanitaire and an Oreck (uprights) as well as a Oreck canister. I recently purchased this Shark vacuum for my finished basement. Well, it has out performed both of the other two and has established itself as my go to vacuum. It has great suction. It’s lightweight and highly maneuverable. I love that it can be used as an upright or as a hand held unit. There are plenty of attachments for any number of needs. I also like that it can be set for hard floors or carpet at the touch of a button. But its best feature is that it pulls a LOT of dirt out of carpets you never realized was there. I’m a homemaker. Cleaning is my job and I’ve been at it for more than 40 years. I vacuum every week or two. Today I vacuumed two large rooms, one average room and a walk-in closet. I emptied the (about 2 cups) dust bin 5 times! If you’re looking for a reasonably priced vacuum the does its job and does it well, then your search is over. I would not hesitate to buy this vacuum again or recommend it to anyone.

Excellent Multi-Floor Type Vacuum
This is an excellent vacuum. I've had it for maybe four to five months now and I love the way it cleans hardwood, tile and carpet and that you can get into a lot of nooks and crevices with this vacuum. It's lightweight and easy to use. I love it so much. I'm going to buy one more today for each floor and ditch my Dyson.

Great vacuum?
I got this vacuum because I wanted an expensive vacuum that I thought did everything. However, it wasn’t what zi thought it would be. Pros of this vacuum cleaner. It’s tall, it has accessories to use on furniture and the stairs. The top comes off and you can put into the bottom vacuum part which works well while cleaning the stairs. The suction is really good, and it is very sturdy. Cons of this vacuum cleaner. They put the wheels so close together that the vacuum doesn’t stand up by itself and falls over, which I have no idea who would design a vacuum like that. Especially when you have to keep stopping and either take the top off and lay it on the floor or lay the whole vacuum down. Very frustrating! And the dust collector is very small, so you have to constantly dump it out frequently. And they put the dust collector in back of the vacuum so you can’t even see it, to see if it’s full unless you look keep an eye on the back of the vacuum. The accessories are kind of hard to use because they don’t pivot around. I have a Shark Apex I got in 2021, which isn’t as advanced or have all the bells and whistles, but it stands up by itself and works really well and was much cheaper. I’ll keep the vacuum because it does help with cleaning the furniture and the stairs well, but I’ll use my cheaper one for most everyday use. It was on sale. If it was full price, not really worth the money.

I am blown away by this engineering phenomenon!!
Where to start??? First off, cordless is fine but has it's own issues such as battery life, charge time, and battery longevity (they stop holding a charge after a while). Eventually they hold such a short charge the product is unusable. Buy new batteries. Yes.... Because a cordless stick vacuum isn't expensive enough as it is. LoL!! So, having to plug a vacuum in is far from an inconvenience. Also, having a corded motor means more power, more suction. The Shark HZ2002 Vertex stick vacuum is a MONSTER with a whopping 380 watt motor and a 30 foot cord. It has dual rollers in the head (which is a powered head to add). One at the rear with bristles and the front with a polymer rubber fin design. So it's abilities to scoop up debris from laminate floors, linoleum, hardwood or any hard floors is flawless. Vacuuming kitty litter and afraid of getting 500mph granular projectile blasted back at you? No fear. The HZ2002 Vertex doesn't let a single morsel out of it's vortex. It sucks everything in and nothing escapes. As for carpet, the suction is also unparalleled by any vacuum on the market in this price range. My carpets look brand new. I was ready to rent a bin and chuck all of my area rugs. The Vertex HZ2002 had such an incredible impact on these carpets because it lifted deep dirt and tracked-in debris with it's impressive suction power. The triple air filter system is another bragging point. Easy to clean, and recirculates the exhaust air without worry of blowing dust or allergens back into the air you are breathing in. In addition, this vacuum is GREAT on pet fur that gets dug into the fibres of carpet and furniture. It comes with a smaller furniture head as well as a bristle fitting and a long tappered hose for hard to reach, tight spots. What else? It is VERY maneuverable and agile. The LED lights on the front are awesome and bright. The canister SEEMS small but it is perfect. And super easy to clean. Cordless vacuums have to conserve power so the head on them is powered by air flow and gearing which is inferior for proper suction. This vacuum has restored my faith in companies again. I started to think everything in this world was low quality and overpriced gimmicks. Thank you Shark!! I will be a loyal customer for the rest of my days if you keep delivering phenomenal products like this that work flawlessly. You raised the bar in the vacuum industry.

Great, but with some faults
I’ve had this vacuum for several months now, upgraded from a cheaper Shark. Overall I’m really happy with my purchase. This vacuum has good suction, a light on the base so you can see exactly where you’re vacuuming, and a couple attachments like an extender tube for corners, and a mini vacuum head attachment which I use for pet furniture. 4 stars because I feel the mini head feels cheap - specifically the plastic that attaches to the main tube, it feels like it could shatter and doesn’t have perfect suction. Also the placement of some of the non moveable hooks towards the bottom feel like a design fault - if you’re using it under furniture they hook to it and you can’t easily pull the vacuum out without crouching. The mini tube also seems to fall off the attachment as well if you lightly bump it. That being said, the suction is great compared to my previous model, it really does well in pulling up lost debris and pet hair both on hardwood/tile, and low pile carpet.
