Q: Could the freeze protection be lowered by using a less diluted type of propylene glycol? (I live in central WI.)

Hello,We include DOWFROST propylene glycol which is good to -60 degrees F if not diluted. You can achieve any level of freeze protection above this by the appropriate dilution with distilled water. We do recommend that you dilute the glycol as much as possible for your area to reduce the viscosity of the fluid and therefore the pumping effort.Thank You,Heliatos Solar

Q: What is the output temperature from the unit? Temperature rise from inlet of solar panel to outlet?

The temperature rise per panel depends on several factors: your latitude, altitude, and other installation factors. As a general rule of thumb each panel is equivalent to a 300 W heater (under full noontime sun and pointing directly at the sun). Typical temperature rise is about 2F per pass per panel at typical flow rates.

Q: Can this be used with a tankless water heater?

Hello, All solar water heaters need a tank of some sort so unless you add a tank you cannot use this with a tankless unit. You can use a small electric water heater as a tank (without connecting the electricity) and feed the pre-heated water to the tankless unit. Please contact us directly for diagrams and details.
