Runs a bit larger thann you would expect, but excellent 3 weapon helmet

In a recent tournament I had someone thrust into my face with a rapier so hard it pushed me back.... So hard it bent their rapier! but the mask showed no sign of damage or denting or anything. Ive also been hit many times both in cuts and thrusts from longsword , arming sword, saber, ect and other than some marks where paint has been knocked off , I cant see any damage to the mask.

We loved this helmet so much we bought another for my other teen who does German long sword.

It has a solid build for a good enough price. I also saved some money by not needing to rent out a mask either

Durable and it works. For the price, it's a great starter helmet. Personally, I've never owned one of the expensive fancy ones but can't imagine there's a huge difference in comfort. They might be a little more durable, maybe an extra dime thickness of padding, but that's about it. This one works fine.

I like this so much I bought a second one as a gift for my adult child for her birthday.

My club stress tested one of these to see if it could be safely used with steel. It is not. It did not meet even their basic testing, denting after normal strikes, or even from ones that are generally considered not that powerful. These masks are now banned from the club. For me, this mask is unusable for its intended purpose. The attached photos are from this test, before the final destructive testing. To review my own unit: The stitches on the band are sloppy, and the paint on the mesh was already flaked off in a spot. It's a shame, because it otherwise *looks* nice to a beginner. But to pick a good mask, looks must come third after safety and quality. It isn't even really that much cheaper than good masks: the only real advantage it has is Amazon shipping and returns, which I will be using. A note about the CE rating: The *gigantic* CE sticker they added is technically true, but very misleading. As clearly indicated by the sticker the CE EN13567, 350N rating only applies ONLY to the fabric used for the neck. It says nothing about the quality of steel used for the mesh, nor the durability and capability (safety) of the overall unit. In order to pass full CE EN13567 Level 1 Certification, the mesh also has to be rated for 650N force. Comparing against other masks with the full rating (according to members of my club who regularly test equipment), this appears to not be the case.

Es una buena careta con un precio inferior a otros productos similares. Lo único es que la cinta de atrás tiene poco velcro, con lo cual cuesta apretarla un poco, tendré que hacer alguna ñapa, pero eso es algo que he visto en caretas más caras. La talla es adecuada y la recomiendo.

Ok che è una maschera leggera fatta apposta per uno sparring "amichevole" Ma dopo quasi un anno di utilizzo e averla comparata con altre maschere di altri schermidori devo dire che l imbottitura si è assottigliata facendo risultare la maschera poco salda tutto sommato con delle modifiche fai da te è perfezionabile, ma per il prezzo che si va a pagare modifiche artigianali non sono ammissibili

I have been using it for fencing with a floret and it has been fine. The materials are graded and resistant but it does not have the HEMA certification, meaning it cannot be used in an oficial competition. I have my doubts if I would use it for saber fighting as it is only 350N.

I just took this helmet for a test run and it is great. The padding is a little lighter than some other helmets I've tried, so if you prefer more in that department, this model may not be for you. That said it is entirely adequate for the job. I got the removable bib option which is wonderful for cleaning. It fits very well, the sizing chart provided is very accurate and provides good direction for taking the measurements. It is a good middle ground for weight, and is very comfortable. We had some shipping issues the first time around that necer got properly addressed, but overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

Very nice helmet. I ordered the helmet with detachable lining. My head size was right in the middle of a Medium and Large. Decided with the medium as its better to be too snug than too loose. I was able to squeeze the mask a bit to make it very comfortable for my head. Used in 1 HEMA class so far and I still have my bread and butter. 5/5
