says cedar fir, but i smell cedar pine? maybe my nose is broke. anyways, i like this. it takes moment to melt in the fingers, but then it applies smoothly and isn't too visible. tin is tiny, so can be portable if you need a touchup, which i guess speaks to my poor skills more than the product.

Lately I have been trying a lot of mustache waxes; trying to find one holding my mustache while allowing it to retain a natural look (i.e. not a glued look). My mustache is one of those where one side bends up and the other curves under. No matter how much you try, once up the left goes back and the front forward. I have started using a heat gun (or hairdryer) while holding the mustache to lock it in place. With this wax, this method works well. The wax is easy to use feeling a lot like the more synthetic waxes that come out of the container with no heating required. It is beeswax with a lot of oils, and no lanolin. Surprisingly, even with other waxes, I have found applying oil first softens the hairs making my mustache more manageable (in particularly, because it is hard to get the wax to the base of the hairs). So, I have found this wax to have a good hold despite being soft to apply. I am allergic to anything with "perfume", or "fragrance" in the ingredients. This uses only essential oils and smells nice. Summary: My mustache is as wide as my face when curled. The wax is easy to use, and holds. The wax is non-allergenic. It also leaves the mustache more natural, or "fluffy" while giving full control of shape. Lastly, this would be perfect for a mustache above a beard where you want shape, but consistent texture and look.

The smell is so good

Fairly decent but not perfect. It definitely does not have a strong hold, but it does hold for a couple hours. It's a bit stiff from the tin, and I find i need to scrape a bit out, heat it up with a hair dryer to make it more malleable. It sits well while it lasts and is a solid 3/5 overall. The cedar fir scent is amazing and really contributed to why I enjoyed this product.

Updating after 2 years' use: This was the first wax I tried. It took me a while to get good at using it but it does the trick now. I had to figure out how much to put on and how to warm it etc. The key, I think, is to have a little balm on my hands from doing my beard first. This helps it spread ever so slightly and it works perfectly. I don't like putting it on a dry moustache with no oil or water first. It is a heavy hold, as advertised, so it pulls a little if my moustache is dry. I chose this brand because Mountaineer actually lists its ingredients. I still like the hold. After using for several years it only takes moments to bring my moustache to its full glory each morning. The firm hold lasts all day. I recently tried the original which they advertise as cedar or something and it is terrible. It smells like tar and takes several hours to fade. Additionally, something about the original dries out my upper lip slow and terrible. After a few weeks my lip was hard and didn't stretch for smiling or talking. I stopped using this and a few weeks later I'm back to normal. I doubt it has this effect on everyone but if you have sensitive skin, go with the extra firm unscented even if you don't need extra firm. I was surprised at how great the regular hold works. I actually like it better than the firm but can't get original in unscented (yet). I am very happy I found this product. It has lasted a good long time. At first I questioned $11 for 2 oz of beeswax but it has lasted me 8+ months even with applying double the amount 3 days a week for work. I'm ordering my 4th order of this today.

If I wanted a mustache wax with no smell at all, I would pick one. There are many, but I like it when the wax has some fragrance that makes me feel good. This smelled like nothing. Smelled less than raw beeswax. They should sell it as neutral or odorless mustache wax, and I feel that I was duped. NO! I don't recommend this product. UPDATE: This is a very honorable company that, after my unsatisfactory review, immediately sent me a different can of the product. This one was Citrus & Spice, and the fragrance is indeed very good. I need to change my previous 1-star review to 5 stars as this one is indeed very pleasant and does the job wonderfully. I believe the previous can was a bad unit, but the brand is a serious one that does not want its customers go unhappy. Thank you very much.

I really like this mustache wax! It has a great natural feel and a pleasant scent that’s not too strong. The texture is soft enough to apply easily, and it doesn’t damage the hair. It gives a nice, natural hold that lasts a couple to three hours - perfect for everyday use

Husband loves this stuff. Holds well and he likes the non scent. Now what I don't like is the fact the tin is much smaller than past purchases, but is still advertised as 2 oz . But what can you do ...

Smells bad and doesn’t hold!

Read reviews and decided to give it a try. Have never used wax before and was pleasantly satisfied with this product.. would definitely recommend this moustache wax.

It does not do the job, just like putting some honey on your mustache, not good for styling at all!!
