Not an OG Madcat type controller
Great controller if you don't mind being wired in. I actually feel the joysticks have held up a bit better then some of my actual Microsoft controllers. Sounds silly , could be placebo but I burn through these pretty quick playing NHL, Madden, Forza etc and then they develop dead zones and stick drift. This is a cheaper solution that solves the annoyance of l3 / r3 clicks for me. Also I have owned an elite controller, and Razer controller in the past (wolverine and wildcat). I am heavy handed and it's specific to games I play a lot but if you also play those games alot and don't feel like replacint your joysticks, soldering and sit at a desk or near your TV this is a great option.

Incredible feel and quality, incredible price
This controller is great. I am a real human that owns and plays with this controller. That's the TLDR you're looking for. I've used this for 2-3 hours 5 days a week for the past month and a half on Apex Legends, Warzone, and Elden Ring. The only three negatives I can think of for this controller are that it 1) accumulates dirt/grime from your hands very easily (I bought the white one), 2) it is corded, and 3) it feels very very light when you first pick it up. I knew it had a cord when I purchased it, but there's simply no getting around the fact that cordless is the best option for a controller. The light, cheap feel of the controller goes away once you make it your primary controller. You won't care that a base xbox or an elite controller is heavier once you feel how the PowerA plays. Setting aside the grime and the cord, the joysticks and buttons on this controller all feel great. I would go so far as to say the joysticks feel MUCH better than the joysticks on the xbox elite 2 that I own. Joysticks on the PowerA are solid. They are a little stiffer than base xbox controllers, but they have really really minimal if any at all stick drift, and they are buttery smooth when performing 360s. Comparing it to the elite 2, I would also say the PowerA Enhanced controller has better rear buttons. Rear buttons are clearly the way to go instead of rear paddles. The paddles on an elite 2 are much slower to rapidly press than an actual button. And after 2 years, the elite 2 controller has completely fallen apart with wobbly joysticks, non functional RB and LB buttons, and rear paddles that activate 80% of the time. Unless I have to buy 7 of these PowerA controllers over the next two years, I would take the PowerA over the elite 2 even if you gave me one. I hope this controller holds up over the long term, but even if it fails, I won't feel bad at all buying a replacement because every xbox controller I've owned since the Xbox One launches has eventually failed on me. The xbox 360 controller was the last microsoft controller that I felt had good build quality. In summary, buy this PowerA controller. Edit: I'm sorry... I really forgot all about the headset issue with this controller. You absolutely cannot use a wired headset with this controller. It's a huge negative. I forgot about it because I upgraded my headset to a wireless model, which connects to the xbox directly and bypasses the controller and has zero problems. My friends were subjected to constant audio static when I used a headset that plugged in to the controller. The mute and volume functions worked, but any time you're unmuted, your friends/teammates will hear a constant static noise. You won't hear a problem at all, but everyone else will hate you. Use this controller with a wireless headset.

Solid Brand with Consistent Quality
I like PowerA controllers, and I've owned several. They work great and feel good. I can definitely recommend them. *BUT* there is 1 big caveat I need to call out: Longevity. I'm not saying these fall apart and you should avoid them, but I have had consistent failures after about 18 months of use (which again, is maybe an ok life span, since they get used a lot). The most common mode of failure is a stuck button (almost always the A button, since it gets pressed the most in a lot of games, but I've also had it with X or B). It doesn't completely break your game, but if you need to double jump, for instance, and the button won't pop back up for half a second, that's a problem. Worse still, it indicates that button will die completely. They get to the point where you have to pry the buttons back up because they won't pop up. If you have multiple controllers, you can swap out some membrane and fix things, but it is a bit irritating to do. The second most common mode of failure is stick drift. This happens on every brand of controller I've had since the Nintendo 64, so it isn't unique to PowerA, and again the life-span for me seems to be about 18 months before something fails, so it's still a decent price. While you can take the controller apart and replace a stick to fix drift, it isn't as easy a fix as a button membrane, and the replacement parts are a little more costly, so it usually isn't worth the effort for a novice. Ok, so those last 2 paragraphs might sound disparaging, but keep in mind that: - I am still actively replacing controllers with this brand of controller because it's been better than other brands and lasted longer than other brands - I recommend this controller to people - I'm rating it 4 stars, which isn't bad - I love the feel of the buttons and triggers, so the build quality is excellent (whereas a lot of controllers have mushy buttons to begin with)

Incredible Build Quality Feels Extremely Solid
The thumbsticks are built like tanks as that’s always been a weak area for standard official Xbox controllers, however this Power A Enhanced Xbox Series X/S Controller has super tight thumbsticks of which feel very strong, and much more durable as that’s what I like most about this controller along with the extra back buttons which are very nice to have for button remap, and they work great. The standard buttons xyba feel very clicks, and responsive again much better than the official Xbox controllers. The dpad is my only complaint as it’s super soft, and mushy feels like foam rubber or something as it doesn’t feel good at all as there’s no click, and feels much slower to push than the standard wireless controllers, however that’s not enough to rate this controller anything less than 5 stars because the quality just feels so strong in almost every way that’s important especially the thumbsticks because as I already said those are always the weakest part on official controllers which break so easily, have drifting, etc so we’re glad to have something which feels much better. The included 10 foot usb cable isn’t usb c so that’s something I’m not thrilled about since I’ve got a much longer usb c cable I could use but that’s not gonna work since it uses mini usb cable of which you can’t simply use any old cable you might have laying around because the fitting is made specifically for the included cable so that’s not favorable Although the one which came with ours fits very tight, and feels secure so no issues.

Bad with multiuser servers
I have been playing minecraft with this and a few other solo player games, it works fine with them no issue, but I recently started playing on a couple servers with friends and walking around is so difficult and jumpy that it quickly causes me to get motion sick and stop playing, it's weird cause my old controller had very few instances where this happend usually caused by lag in game, I can move fine if I use my keys but once I pick up the controller it has issues again. A little bit of a bummer since I really like playing with my friends but it makes it way to difficult to comfortably be able to enjoy, so ill be looking for a new controller, mabey something through a actual Xbox maker.

solid controller
I bought this controller to replace my 5 month old Razer Wolverine. The right trigger of the Razer Wolverine actually broke on the inside. What a piece of garbage. You can buy 3 of these for the price of a garbage razer product. This product works just fine. The difference is that while all you get is a very good controller when you buy this product, with razer you have to pay for an elaborate carrying case with extra knobs and crap. The problem with razer is the elaborate carrying case with extra knobs and crap is worthless if the main controller is made from thin inferior plastic.

Poor quality control (multiple (3) product failures, and poor customer service)
I understand that with all electronic products these days, some just don't work out. But I have consistent issues with this product, and all of my other products by the same company. All of my controllers (both purchased and warranty replaced) have all broken down due to hardware or firmware issues well within their 2 year warranty period, in as little as 2 months. This is the latest email I received for THIS defective product: "If the future product you receive is defective, please process a return claim to the retailer immediately. There is no known issue for a defective batch of controllers. PowerA product is free from defects in both material and workmanship. Also, PowerA products are tested to withstand normal wear and tear. Also, please be advised that the warranty we offer is not for unlimited replacement within two years. " You'll see below that I did originally reach out to the retailer as they requested (who reached out to PowerA) and that the defects I describe I below cannot be due to user error. They may not offer unlimited replacement, but I want to make it clear for future buyers that my original purchases have broken down well within the warranty time frame, and now I'm writing this review because their warranty replacement is also failing. Product 1: PowerA Enhanced Wired Controller for Xbox Series X|S - Mist Timeline: 02-01-2022 - Purchase Date 02-25-2022 - First Use (ER release date :) ) ~04 —2022 - (R) Analog Stick Drift ~06 —2022 - (R) Analog Stick Drift is so bad, the camera will spin continuously in one direction while in a neutral position. Contacted Amazon Customer Service, who forwarded my case to PowerA. 06-13-2022 - PowerA emailed me to say that they were processing my warranty, and sending a replacement. 03-21-2023 - Contacted PowerA with the following issue: "Pressing the left analog stick (L3 button) audibly clicks, but the L3 function won’t persist when I keep it pressed. Instead of being held, the games will treat it as though I just tapped L3." 03-27-2023 - PowerA provided recalibration instructions. This worked. 10-19-2023 - Contacted PowerA with the following issue: "Pushing the right analog stick upwards causes the game to behave as though I’ve pressed the L2 button. If I reset the controller or unplug/replug, the issue disappears, but the behavior repeats after a few minutes of playing more. If I go through the steps of recalibrating the controller by holding the Nexus, Menu, and View buttons simultaneously (then rotating analogs and pressing triggers) before reconnecting it, the issue still disappears but returns after minutes." 10-19-2023 - PowerA recommended downloading an app to update the firmware and to calibrate the controller. This worked, but after minutes play, the problem would return. The app actually shows how pressing the analog stick causes the L2 to press. (see picture) 10-24-2023 - PowerA offers replacement. I sent them the requested information. 10-25-2023 - PowerA responds with the following: "Based on our system we already fulfilled your warranty by sending a replacement for your controller and when it comes to our policy, we are only allowed to process one warranty replacement only. However, we will give you a one time courtesy and process another replacement but it doesn't mean that your warranty will restart. This is the last replacement that we can process to you." I asked them how this could be the case if the controllers are faulty, and they responded with the message I posted up earlier. I started writing this review at this time, and I stopped playing several video games that used the L2 button. 12-03-2023 - Started using their second replacement (bought MW3). 02-25-2024 - The Left analogstick (L3) no longer clicks. 2 years. 3 faulty controllers. PowerA's response is that they are free from defects. And I should speak to the seller. I won't/can't buy PowerA products for any of my consoles anymore with this sort of quality and customer support. This story is specific to this product. But I have other timelines for my other purchases too that I'll add to those pages.

Vibrations are way too strong.
Vibrations are too strong and can bee irritating sometimes. The build quality is good but very light weight. I would prefer a heavy controller. Good aspects are programmable buttons at the bottom and volume control button on the controller itself, so you don't need to go to keyboard for volumn. Price is more, and yet it is not wireless but I still bought this one as branded and other controllers like CB Ares might not work on window 11 and eventually might malfunction. So I chose peace of mind over wireless cheaper controllers. Overall a decent purchase. Edit: it's been almost 2 years and I'm still using this controller. Just changed 3 stars to 5 stars. I should have spent more money and bought the RGB lights one.

Awesome
I can't work out how Power A are offering such a premium product for such a low price. I bought the Spectra Infinity Enhanced. It's beautiful. It feels heavy and well made. The matte material on the face is very nice and smooth. The buttons all feel well made and robust, with the triggers having a nicely sprung action, and the sticks feel very nice too. The 2 programmable buttons are essential if you want to avoid stick drift. Bind the RS and LS to those buttons, and you won't get stick drift. Then there are two 3-way switches, one for each trigger, that sets how far the triggers can be pressed. Not something I will use, but I can see that being useful to people with limited mobility in their fingers. Lastly, the RGB lighting is pretty good. You have 4 zones you can customize but not as much as I would've liked. Basic colour changes, and breathing or solid. It still looks nicer than any other joypad, and it feels as well made as an official joypad. So, the question remains; if Power A can make a joypad like this for this price, why are official joypads so expensive?
