China Glaze Nail Polish, Re-Fresh Mint 867

I tried this as my first serious venture into painting my toes. My wife suggested mint so I ordered it. I was disappointed when I saw the bottle as it was so pale, but tried it anyway. I am happy with it now that it is on. I have had it on for two weeks and it still looks good. I do wear socks a lot of the time as it is still unusual for a man to paint his toes; however, I do venture out in public in sandals for shopping etc. I did the full routine, undercoat, two color coats and a top coat. The polish is difficult as other reviewers have suggested, but worth the effort. It lost one star for ease of use.

I love the colour but one of the Ingredients is Tosylamide Formaldehyde Resin, which I do not like.

This is my first time using any China Glaze product, and I have to say that I'm disappointed. I read so many rave reviews about China Glaze, and the fact that they add clay as a hardener seems appealing (I'm a busy house-wife who tends to chip her polish). However, I think the clay addition might be its downfall. This stuff is thick, goopy, and takes FOREVER to dry. 3 hours after application, and I could still leave an impression on the surface of my nails. Not good! The polish also went on rather streaky. I wasn't able to test out how hard or long-lasting the product is, because I had to use nail polish remover before it even fully dried (4 hours after application). For those interested, I did use a base & (fast drying) top coat. i could literally feel the polish squishing around in between base & top coat, so I knew it was not dry. Big pain in the ass. China Glaze has let me down. Perhaps not all color formulas are as difficult as the Re-fresh Mint.

I wrote a review on this polish yesterday but I had to change it after I actually applied it on my nails. The consistency on this polish it TERRIBLE! What in the world?? And China Glaze is my favorite brand. In fact I'm almost convinced that this was a bootleg China Glaze because it's THAT BAD. I left the FIRST COAT on my nails for 10mins and it smeared!! I've never had a China Glaze polish that took more than 5mins to dry completely. This is just ridiculous. I can't even keep the polish on unless I'm expected to sit in my chair still, not doing anything for an hour or something. I'll still say this, the shipping was prompt and fast. I'm not blaming this on the seller because maybe it's the company that really messed up on this one but if anyone else happens to get this color at the store or from another seller, please let me know how it worked for you! Because no lie, I don't even know if I can use this polish at all. It won't stay on.

So disappointed with the texture and quality of China Glaze. While I tend to purchase Essie when I'm going for a more "expensive" brand, I loved this color and had to purchase it (Re-Fresh Mint) along with a couple others, Flip Flop Fantasy and Elephant Walk. The quality of this polish is terrible. Even when the bottle is brand new and just opened, the texture of the polish is incredibly sticky almost like it had been sitting for a couple years and started to thicken. When I tried to paint my nails with it, it applied very streaky and left small globs of polish at the very tips of my nails. Disgusting! I expected this brand to be of good quality because it's a salon brand and not something that is really available in drug stores. I have honestly had better nail painting experiences with cheap brands. Also, the polish takes forever to dry. I applied two coats and nearly a half hour later, I went to touch something and smeared my polish. It also chips after less than 24 hours. Unheard of. Will never purchase this brand again, I could find better quality at 1/3 of the price.
