Buy the 2nd two individually
This book is three books in one, so I'll rate each one:1. Jazz Guitar Chord Mastery - 3 stars2. Guitar Chords in Context - 4 stars3. Voice Leading Jazz Guitar - 4 starsIn general, Joseph Alexander teaches very well and has good content, but he REALLY needs someone to review his material before print because it's full of typos, the most I've seen in any guitar instruction books. The massive amount of typos is why I cannot give 5 stars.Jazz Guitar Chord Mastery gets 3 stars because it only covers about 4 types of chords (M7, m7, 7 & m7b5 - give or take) and in root position. There just wasn't much gravity to this book. Maybe it's good for beginners, but might lead them into bad ways because of the typos.Guitar Chords in Context is really good, covering inversions and walking bass lines, but sadly, typos and limited types of chords (again around 4 basic types - plus substitutions and extensions) prevent 5 stars.Voice Leading Jazz Guitar is excellent and a subject I'd like to see more often. I did spot a couple voice leading no-no's from a Tonal Music Theory perspective, but all in all, it's excellent material. Again, typos prevent 5 stars. If I had to do it over, I'd skip Jazz Guitar Chord Mastery, but get the other two individually.

This book is what you need to get into jazz harmony... period.
As a classically trained percussionist who has been wanting to learn more guitar and jazz.... Jazz was confusing to me! I had taken music theory classes I had studied Beethoven and Bach, analyzed atonal music... and still jazz and jazz harmony made me afraid, I did not know what I was doing. This book is so dense with useful information, I found myself not only playing jazz chord progressions with ease, and even was able to consider voicing. Its expanded my knowledge of jazz greatly! This information in the book has not only helped me become more proficient at guitar, but its made me more proficient at jazz. Its so simple that a knowledge of music theory isn't needed but the information is so good it can be applied with a knowledge of music theory very easily. The method of finding altered chords (something that would have given me a panic attack before) using guide tones is so brilliant, I feel energized and motivated to keep learning. This book was the self guided kick in the rump I needed to not only play jazz guitar, but start to understand the jazz for the first time.

3 in One
This book is brilliant! Has three books in one with each book leading toward the last one which shows you how to form chords by voicings rather than Chord Shapes

Good Starting Place for Those New to Jazz
I'm an intermediate guitarist and for me, instructional material MUST be laid out logically and with a sense of linear progression for it to make sense. I'm only partially through the first book, but Alexander's style of instruction is exactly what I've been looking for. There are a few typos as reviewers have said and sometimes I wish there were more exercises given but this is head and shoulders above the competition.

Great Book for Understanding Guitar Chords
This book teaches not only chord theory, but also gives practical information on how to use different chords. Clear, easy-to-understand explanations are great for learning without a guitar teacher. This is 3 books in one: Guitar Chords in Context, Jazz Guitar Chord Mastery, and Voice Leading Jazz Guitar, so it's a better deal for people to get this one book instead of all three (if you prefer a physical copy of a book in hand to take notes, add post-its, and flip back and forth in the book).

Fantastico
Fantastico, come avere un maestro in persona. Semplice, graduale, pieno di file audio e soprattutto comprensibile per il chitarrista intermedio avanzato. La serie fundamental changes è tra le migliori esistenti sul mercato.
