Like all good books they take a lot of work ...
As a seasoned performer and teacher we all get a bit rusty and maybe lose focus when it comes to learning things and/or explaining things to students. Joseph has given me in this book a breath of fresh air and re- ignited my passion for learning more complex manoeuvres. He has also made me realize that I have always been on the right track with my thinking, but sometimes I derail and can't get back on. This book gets you up and going straight away and helps you target your learning and stay focussed. Like all good books they take a lot of work but the rewards are more than worth it! Well done Joseph.

Higher learning
Should have a good understanding of jazz chord shapes and structures but if you have that down its a great learning tool. What I liked the most is how the narrator helps you understand what to hear and why you're playing that particular interval, shape and progression.

This Dude Knows How To Deliver Solid Information
I own many of Joseph Alexander's books and he is superior in offering great knowledge. He really simplifies the information. I am always excited to see what he will be putting out next. You cannot go wrong with any one of his courses. There are a lot of lesson books to choose from out there, & this book on Voice Leading is excellent. You will not be disappointed.

As a guitarist who is based primarily in improvisational music I had come to the conclusion that my own personal lack was in voice leading in a harmonically sophisticated way. So...I picked up this book. I was happy to work through it and find that Mr. Alexander had done a very good job in his initial examples then extrapolating the original concept (2ndary dom) to include more....this is exactly the info I was looking for. I am a theory based guitarist (although our ears ultimately lead the way)...in that I understand and use theory for my composing and playing. The only gripe I have are some of the typos and misprints of some of the chords...but if you see those and work through it, it's a great test! Good job Mr. Alexander

Great material
Mr. Alexander’s resources are exactly what I or anyone else serious about Jazz guitar and/or Jazz chord theory is looking for. The material is rich, concise and full of the ideal points to get you to where you want and need to be as a musician .

***** 5 stars well earned - Just buy it - you will not regret it.
A very clear and understandable method to develop voice leading for guitar. A very useful selection of MP3 files is available for download too and these make experimenting with the progressions in the course a good deal more useful. The studies are given in Notation and tab so beginners will find it easy. As it is an advanced course though many fingerings are dfficult to stretch and these in turn stretch the student.Having experienced five decades of guitar tuition material from Bert Weedon's 'Play in a Day' (Fat chance) to this volume I can say that this book is a masterpiece. Thanks to the author

Incredibly revealing
This book from Mr. Alexander has been THE revelation for me - his interval-based approach is the best way to master the guitar fretboard.Once the "matrix" has been internalised, everything from fingering the four basic chord types (Maj7, min7, Dom7, m7b5) in different voicings/inversions up to alterations and substitutions to these chords becomes understandable and easier to follow. Thanks for the series.

Awsome!
Accompanying all the other material, this is a paedagogically good book. I could not learn only from this one, however, its an excellent companion and among the best ! thanks Joseph!

it's a good book. If I'm wrong please tell me
Reasons I gave this book 3 stars is because there is a mistake on page 14. It state Fm7 when actually it is Em7.But aside from that, so far, is a good book.If I'm wrong please tell me.After working through the book i'm found the layout a bit confusing and this can slow the understanding of the material and how to use the book.
