Great product. Have waiting 6mos to review.
Have used these 6 mos. NO issues. Froze one on accident and held together. Space saving water transport. Great product. Surprised how durable this is. Much better than a 5gal plastic or 1gal jug. This sits and conforms to area placed. Flexible

Not what it used to be!
We've used Reliance water carriers for about 50 years now and they held up really well even in the Boundary Waters. These truly are inferior! They have really good spigots compared to others I've seen but the plastic that the jug is made out of is much thinner, not to mention there was a pinhole in it when it arrived. We have always hung our jugs from treehugger straps using an S-hook in the hanging tab molded into the plastic and never had a problem. On this one, I would never trust that to hold. I had decided to sew a webbing harness to support and hang the Reliance which should have worked but then I tested it for leaks and it failed. What really irritates me is that because I had read a couple of comments on the lighter weight of the plastic, I called the manufacturer and inquired about whether the materials they were currently using were thinner than previously but they wouldn't give me a straight answer. They simply said they use whatever their suppliers provide. I guess they don't care if their suppliers run them out of business!

Works well for what I need
I'm not using this to haul water a long way or store for any length of time. I use it to gather water at the source (lake, stream, whatever) and chemically treat it. After that, I filter it into hydration bladders and nalgene bottles. It only has to hold water for 30 minutes or so while the chlorine dioxide tabs do their job. Works great for that.

You need this water carrier!
You need one of these whether you are backpacking or car camping. I've used these reliance carriers for years. They hold up and are super useful. When empty, they are lightweight and can be folded up for use when backpacking with a water filter at your camp site. For car camping, they are great for filling at the water station and getting water back to your site. You can use a piece of rope and hang it from a tree for easy water dispensing.

Punch pin holes developed quickly
When these get hard creases, pin holes tend to develop. Cleaning is easy and when handled with care, they hold up well over a twelve day hike in the high desert. We did have one handle out of four that the metal link failed, we were already 12 miles into wilderness and managed to use tubular webbing to build a handle system that worked.

Gives a plastic smell to water!
I've bought Reliance water containers all my camping days!40+ years! I was thrilled to find this again in this size and for a great price.I got to camp and could not use it. The plastic tainted my water witha nasty plastic smell!!! I thought the water was bad but it was the container.I wish I could return it and question the company. I am disappointed and hopethis is just a lemon and not all Reliance containers are now using thistype of smelly plastic.
