Q: Will this burn plants underneath it?

Mine did not kill plants that were underneath it but, it did not deter the squirrels either.

Q: I did not receive assembly instructions? I'm trying to put it together based on the pictures but the parts I have don't match the pictures. Help!

We received this about a year ago. If I recall the rubber boots go in between the glass and then you hang it by putting the polls together
