Naturium Azelaic Topical Acid 10%, Face & Skin Care Beauty Treatment with Niacinamide & Vitamin C, 1 oz

I first read about azelaic acid on Reddit and thought I’d give it a try and it works! It is a great exfoliant and this product also makes my skin smooth and feels so good after a shower. The ingredients moisturize my skin and it’s never looked so good. My dermatologist also recommends azelaic acid but said this product is better than the prescription because of it’s formula with niacinamide.

I read the reviews before buying and there was mentions about this smelling weird and confirm it’s true but I looked it up and it’s cause it’s in its pure form and it’s medical so no fragrances added. This doesn’t sting or burn, I was scared for that but everything was fine my skin reacted good. I like how the bottle is glass like and I’ve seen improvement already since using it. It hasn’t dried my face or made it red but I am using 2-3 times weekly. Good quantity for the price and it’s not heavy on the skin.

Update June 2025: I came across several sources online that state this specific Naturium product uses a derivative of azelaic acid called potassium azeloyl diglycinate. This form has not been studied for efficacy nearly as much as normal azelaic acid. If you are not noticing benefits, it may be because this product uses a derivative, and not plain azelaic acid. This feels incredibly misleading because I believed azelaic acid just didn't work for me, but I am now wondering if it's because they use a poorly-studied version. I am going to find a product with the typical form and see if it works. I bought this months ago and have been trying it on my skin until recently. For context, I developed some mild redness on my cheeks and nose early this year that I suspected was rosacea - my dermatologist confirmed this a fee weeks ago. I read that while 15% was the usual go-to strength, 10% may be enough. I bought this after trying to find something that had good reviews but was also a reasonable price. I have combination skin, use cold cream and a mild foaming cleanser daily. I use tretinoin most nights. I'm 30 years old, so I don't have much texture or lines, but I do have slightly large pores that I think are genetic. This product did not work for me unfortunately. I used it consistently and as directed with no improvement in my redness or my normal skin areas. The product itself is nice to use. It sinks into the skin, doesn't pill up, and has a barely noticeable scent. I think this could be worth a try for people with mild, non-rosacea redness or skin texture problems. My skin just needs something else. I don't really have room for an active that's not working for me in my routine, so I will not be repurchasing.

Similar to another review… I finally started hearing about Azelaic Acid thanks to the Perioral Dermatitis reddit thread. My PD wasn’t super active… but I THOUGHT it was because the red marks just hung around. Turned out… all I needed was Azelaic Acid to help fade the marks that were lingering for months. I was always afraid to use anything harsh (because PD people know that when it’s flaring… you don’t want to use any products on it) but this has become an everyday serum that transformed my skin! I also tried Paula’s Choice and Anua but this one has been by far the MOST effective for some reason. It also layers beautifully under makeup and I have OILY skin. Another PD tip… find a doctor who can do a stool test/GI map. My PD and Rosacea is now fully gone due to fixing pesky gut infections and bacterial overgrowths… after struggling with PD for FIVE years. Hope this helps someone!

I've been using this for over 3 months now, and I can say it works but you need to be consistent. The results weren't immediate, but after a couple of months, the improvement was noticeable enough that friends who hadn't seen me in a while complimented my skin. If you're patient and use it regularly, it's worth trying. I started using it for my post-pimple marks (hyperpigmentation). They haven't disappeared completely yet, but they've improved, and I'm hopeful they'll continue to fade with continued use. Overall, my skin texture has definitely improved.

Excellent product during pregnancy. Helped with my inflammation and mild acne. Very gentle on the skin.

I have been using this product from past 1 month. Nothing noticeable yet.The hyperpigmentation is still there,no glow or anything great to make me fall in love with this product.It didn't break me out,so I m still using it.
