Accurate and good for small children
It's hard to parse through all the pulse oximeters available on Amazon since so many have sponsored reviews, which is annoying at best and misleading at worst. The reason I chose this pulse ox was that it had a low proportion of negative reviews. We needed a pulse oximeter for our toddler and this serves the purpose really well. When using it for a smaller child you may need to try a couple of fingers to find the best one - for us the middle finger is more reliable than the smaller index finger; I'd guess a toddler's thumb might also work. Be sure that their finger is all the way into the pulse ox meter and that the fingertip touches the black rubber ridge close to the hinge. This pulse ox meter gives relatively quick readings, is accurate and has large clear numbers along with different display modes. It does take a little longer to get a reading on a small finger than on a bigger person but that is probably typical for this type of device, and it's at least as fast as the one that our pediatrician uses. We use this for the toddler and (for "fun") on her older siblings which is a good calibration check. Big kids and adults tested have always been in the 98-100 range; when the little one has had lower readings her figures have been consistent with observation, our prior experience, and cross-checks at the doctor's office. The power button is easy to operate so we get her to press that herself. It also functions to cycle through different display styles, which is a good way for a little one to pass the time while waiting for the reading.

Reliable and Easy-to-Use Pulse Oximeter!
The Santamedical Generation 2 OLED Fingertip Pulse Oximeter has been an invaluable tool for monitoring my oxygen levels. Its compact size and lightweight design make it easy to carry around, and the included lanyard adds convenience for quick access. The OLED display is clear and bright, showing accurate readings of my blood oxygen saturation levels and pulse rate within seconds. I appreciate how user-friendly it isโjust a single button to operate, and it automatically powers off when not in use, saving battery life. This device gives me peace of mind by allowing me to monitor my health effortlessly. Highly recommend it to anyone needing a reliable and portable pulse oximeter!

Good unit, does all it is supposed to do at a reasonable price.
My wife and I have booked a trip to Machu Picchu. We have heard that altitude there can affect many people so it is wise to check you oxygen levels to make sure you will be OK. We searched among many fingertip pulse readers to find one which we could take on that trip. Because of the feature set, multiple views of information, we decided upon a Santamedical unit and in particular the Generation 2 OLED model. Once we received it we found our choice to be confirmed. The unit is comfortable, light weight so carrying will not be a problem, fast reading with ability to alter how results are displayed to make it easier to read. The unit comes with a lanyard but no belt case for carrying. All in all we are very satisfied with our choice and would buy this unit again.

Close to perfect for the money
RT here. This is a good little oximeter. I compared it to the highly accurate ones at work and it always gives the same reading as the pro machines. So far, itโs been sturdy and accurate. I wipe it down with caviwipes several times daily and it still keep on! The only reason for 4 stars is that while itโs great as a lanyard tool, itโs a little less than ideal for carrying around in a pocket. The on button is very sensitive and WILL switch on in your pocket as you walk around with very little effort. This sure does make the batteries die much quicker than they should. Overall, though, I really like the features of this oximeter. Itโs sleek looking and the ability to change the display is nifty. Iโve had it now for a couple of months and Iโm still satisfied. Now, letโs see how long it lasts..

So far, so good
I've only had this about a month, but so far the readings have been accurate and I found it very easy to use right out of the box. I check my blood oxygen everyday as one means of monitoring my health during this pandemic. I haven't been to the doctor's office since March, and hope I don't have need to go, so I am glad to have one more tool to monitor my well-being (I have Type II diabetes, so I have a glucometer and hypertension, so I have a really good blood pressure manchine courtesy of my insurance company.) Of course, I am also isolated pretty much 24/7 (102 days so far) because of health issues besides what I mentioned. When I do venture out, I distance myself, wear a mask (to protect others), and then wash my hands thoroughly when I come home. Even though they say it's not necessary, I also "quarantine" my mail, packages and my groceries (someone shops for me). I'd rather be thought silly than get sick.

Oximeter is life saver
I bought this device for my wife who is a heart patient. She is on artificial mitral valve and quit frequently her lungs develop fluid and she experienced shortness of breath. To release water she has to take medication. Sudden increase in body weight is an indicator of water retention. Her doctor advised her instead of relying solely on weight management, to buy an oximeter to monitor blood oxygen level and decide medication accordingly. In my opinion this little device can be a life saver. This device not only gives us our heart rate, but shows graphically how steady our heart rate is (or is not). It's kind of like an EKG. When my wife forgets to take her meds, She can see the effect of that using this device. In the present scenario of COVID19 this device can be used to monitor oxygen level of all family members which will help early detection of COVID19 infection. I have received this device today and started using it.I detected that my wife is low in oxygen and she immediately took medication. We went to the clinic of my wife's doctor and found that reading of my device is very close to the reading of the device my wife's doctor uses in her clinic In my opinion the device is working fine and is dependable. In my opinion I rate the quality of this product to 5 on a scale of 1 to 5.I keep notes on what I see in my device and will discuss them with my Dr. at my next appointment.

It's a fairly solid device. Seems to be accurate. Good value for the money.
The display is very easy to read, although it's annoying the same display content is not available for viewing from every facing direction. It makes it odd that left handed, centered and right handed wearing positions would have different display readout styles and not the same ones available all three directions. It obtains the reading faily quickly with your finger properly state all the way into the device an the device closed on your finger with its automatic amount of tension it applies without your help. Auto shuts down. Comes with a dust cover and snap-together carrying lanyard which works well. This is a great addition to any home or office emergency medical kit or daily monitoring gear. The only thing that would make the product better would be a version with onboard memory and USB port so you can download and track you O2 sat and pulse rate changes over time for monitoring or discovering trends or sudden changes in these stats which are critical to monitor for anyone with CHF or other heart conditions.

Fast, clear, dependable
Much better than the cheapies. It works without need for repositioning. It gives a readout quickly. You can read the big bright display without squinting. No more upside down digits - press the button to rotate the display for convenient reading. Clip this onto a sick person and depend on getting a result while you attend to other things.
