Yes, this item is very noisy! It’s like sleeping on a paper bag, and every move is loud crinkles. The original item was soft and noiseless, but they have switched the product with an inferior product. Don’t buy it.

is this good for a mattress and box spring?

I used mine in my mattress but am planning on buying another for my box spring. I wouldn't see why it wouldn't work. I put mine on a pillowtop mattress and it was still a little big.

Is this cloth or plastic

It is cloth. I installed it myself by putting the mattress and box in the vertical position and slipping it on (one for each) like a big wedding dress! Everything went smoothly, and I haven't seen any bed bugs in my place for months. I had a couple mosquito bites from yesterday (saw them this morning), but these are different from bed bug bites (more itchy and no breakfast, lunch, and dinner).

Does this fit the boxspring AND mattress at the same time? it's been a long day. :)
