Great value pump for the pond or aquaponics hobbyist
I actually haven't plugged this in yet, so I don't even know if this specific unit works. However, I have been using TetraPond pumps since the spring of 2012 in my backyard aquaponics system. They have been very reliable and I haven't had one fail yet. I shut down my system in the winter but I have run pumps continuously from late April through late November. I have both smaller and larger pumps than this one, but I specifically bought the 325 GPH pump as I'm going to set up a solar heating system and need a pump to circulate the water through it. I want to run higher temperatures in the aquaponics system to increase fish growth rate. A few reminders: First, as you increase the pressure head ie. the vertical distance that you want to pump the water, the flow rate drops off. They show on the packaging how much flow is lost per vertical distance. This must be taken into account when you're choosing a pump. As an example, if you need 325 GPH of water flow, you would need a larger pump to achieve that flow rate if your pressure head is a foot or more. Second, the plastic hose adapter should be handled carefully so you don't snap it off accidentally. It hasn't happened with any of these pumps, but I have a different brand where it happened. It is, after all, plastic. When you place a hose over it, try to gently slip it on. What I've found helpful is to gently heat the end of the hose with a lighter to soften the plastic hose so it will slip over the adapter easily. Once the hose cools, it will stay put, though you should slip a stainless steel hose clamp over the hose/adapter to ensure it stays in place. Lastly, I run my pumps in an aquaponics system and it can handle uneaten food and solid fish waste easily without getting plugged. However, I keep the tanks covered with tarps to block out a lot of light so no algae grows in my system, and also netting to prevent leaves and other debris from falling into the tank, and also to prevent fish from jumping out! This means that I don't usually have problems with anything solid plugging the pump. If you plan to use this pump for an outdoor pond, remember that plugging of the pump can be an issue. I think they sell pre-filters to help with this but you'll have to do your own research on that. Good luck!

Excellent pump
Excellent pump1900 is strong enough as OYO pump 3500 which was broken down twice.

Tetra is built to last. This pump works very well.
We have used Tetra brand for years. Now my Mom has a home with a pond and I needed a pump that would stay put and not fall over with our winds. This one is heavy enough to stay upright and not fall over. Easy to rinse the inside filter out. Quiet and easy to install.

Metric plumbing a negative
Good pump - very dependable and easy to work on. However, metric plumbing connections makes it hard to adapt to available U.S. tubing and fittings. The available corrugated plastic tube usually used in weak and prone to failure.

So far so good......
So far so good. I have a box filter hooked up to it along with fountain and hose going to ole hand pump that spits water. Good steady flow to all. Very easy to set up once u find the rite connectors which are provided with pump purchase. Seems well made and easy to remove vented cage unlike others I have had. I will update if something goes wrong with it but for now after 3 days use im a happy camper. I have a 1000 gal. garden pond.

I like
This pump is working quite well for me. I used it to replace a 900 gph (give or take 50 gph) pump that I was using to power a small waterfall in my pond. This pump fit the bill quite well. The intake screen comes off and reveals a female threaded intake nozzle. I was able to attach a 1" threaded x 1" insert PVC connector to connect my 1" intake line (coming from a skimmer with a large particle filter) to the intake of the pump. I used the same type of connector to go from the outlet end to my existing 1" flexible pond tubing (also a Tetra Pond product) to the waterfall (again, Tetra Pond). The waterfall advises using a pump between 1000 and 2000 gph, and this pump does a nice job keeping a good flow of water running whereas the smaller, older pump just wasn't meeting my expectations. As mentioned above, I plumbed into 1" tubing (inlet and outlet), and everything seems to be working just fine. If you choose to do this, keep in mind that you will experience a reduced flow rate because of the increased velocity and friction because of the smaller pipe. I was satisfied with the flow rate in my setup, but YMMV. I have had this running nonstop for only a few weeks so everything is still working as expected. If this changes, I will return to update my review accordingly and describe my warranty experience.

Easy to use and does a great job!
Easy to set up and use. I needed this for my pond skimmer and its very powerful! My koi are loving it and I love having clean water for the fish.

Works great and does the job it's supposed to however..
Love the product. Worked as it should and did a good job while it worked. Of course it stops working after I can't return or replace the item. I've tried everything to get it to work again but it's done and literally dead in the water. Going to try to contact tetra themselves to see if I can get a replacement. Couldn't complain up until now when it quit on me.

Still working
Mine has been running steady in my back yard pond for 3 years (minus winter). Still like new. Magnetic coupling between motor and pump so no damage should the impeller get stuck. easy to clean. Very well made.

Strong enough
Cleared my medium sized pond debris quickly. My pre-filter box kept getting clogged because the pump was pulling everything into it. Using it with an XtremepowerUS 10,000 filter

good pump haven't used it for a long duration but ...
good pump haven't used it for a long duration but it moves the water at a decent rate. one downfall is the thread to hose connectors twisted off on me when I tried to tighten them. on the plus side half inch PVC will fit in there nice and snug.
