Lucifer: The Complete Third Season

Now I have seen the third season of this great tv-show. It took a little while. It was so many episodes in this season. In this season the main villain in Cain. Yes, Cain from the bible who killed his brother Abel. He is known as the the murderer in history. He was cursed by god for killing his brother. He could never die. Cursed forether to walk this earth. In season 4 we will meet their parents Adam and Eve. It will be interesting to see. And I'm looking forward meeting Lillith. Adams first wife and mother of all demons. I can highly recommend this tv-show.

The third season picks up right after the closing shot in season 2, where Lucifer wakes up in the desert with his wings. He, of course, thinks it is his father's doing, and much of the first part of the season is spent with Lucifer trying to find out what happened. There is a new foil for Lucifer in season 2, brought through a new character Lt. Pierce played by Tom Welling (which leads to a couple good superman jokes being included). Of course, the relationship between Chloe and Lucifer, and the fact that he essentially disappears on her when he said he was coming to meet her in the season 2 finale is a big focus of the season. Tricia Helfer is back this season, having no memory of what happened while her body was inhabited with Lucifer's mother. It really results in her having the biggest character development of all the characters. The season does feel a bit uneven given that it was supposed to end and had a big cliffhanger ending in episode 24, and then two episodes tacked on the end of the season that aired after the show was canceled. They would have fit in fine as filler episodes, during the season, but just felt out of place where they aired. Thankfully, the show was picked up for a 10 episode 4th season, so it will at the very least be able to tie things up if there is no season 5. For those who get the blu-ray set, it is a MOD+ set, in that it is a MOD set that actually has some bonus material. That includes a gag reel, a 30 min portion of the comic-con panel, a behind the scenes look at moving the filming of the show from Vancouver to Los Angeles, deleted scenes for most episodes, and a segment where Tom Ellis and Tom Welling ask each other questions, broken up into 3 parts. Definitely a lot more material than you get with a "regular" MOD set which is usually only DVD and just has the episodes and nothing else. Plus, it has the ability to pick up where you leave off, even if you stop in the middle of an epiosde, which the regular WB blu ray sets do not. While I know some people think the show went downhill a bit in season three, I think that most people who liked the first two seasons will (for the most part) like this one. I do not think the tone of the show changed all that much, and it continued to be well written and acted. While the blu ray set is a bit more expensive because it is a MOD set, for those who prefer the physical media, and enjoy the show, it is a good pickup.
