JJC Wireless Bluetooth Remote Control for Sony, Replaces Sony RMT-P1BT

I just wanted a remote shutter release for my Sony a 6700 This works just perfect for what I wanted it for. It has other features on it as well, but I haven’t even touched because I usually just set my camera the way I want it and want to remotely set the shutter so I don’t shake the camera.

Update: I downgraded this item to a one star (which is a little generous) because it just stopped working. I had it in my camera bag for about a month, took it out to use in the field for the first time, and it just wouldn't turn on. Replaced the battery, still nothing. Original: Does what it says. Works great with Sony a7v. However, the zoom function is not optical so it's fairly useless.

worked great for a month. then it just stopped functioning reliably. you ever miss a family photo because your remote didn't work? after you set the whole thing up, made everyone pose, and then several people left? if not, give this a try! you'll be able to experience it yourself.

I purchased another brand initially. I was able to pair it with my Sony a7Riii, but couldn't get it to work. This one paired quickly and immediately started working. I use it mainly for tripod mounted shots, where I wants the highest clarity of the subject that I am photographing. No matter how steady you think you are, as slow shutter speeds a little bit of shake will show up. Also, unless you are using a camera timer, a little bit of shake can be induced. With this I can compose the photograph, step back, let the tripod motion settle down and take very clear, sharp photos at ISO 100. My camera does not have auto zoom. So this us used for still shots and a little bit of video. One small issue- Sometimes it stops connecting to the camera. But when I re-pair it to the camera, everything is fine.

Although the phone app can do what this device does, this works faster and easier for times you need it to work right now without the wait of the app, especially when under pressure. It's small and lightweight so you wont even realize its in your bag when you do need it.

The quality is poor, it feels very cheap. I followed the instructions to a T and never was able to get it to connect.

I have a Sony E10 and this remote works just as described. I'm very happy with this purchase. It's not expensive, it works as advertised... what else can I say! I recommend it.
