CHI Lava Curl Shot, Hair Curling Wand for Voluminous & Long-Lasting Curls

Love it.

My stylist used this on my hair the last time I was there. Even though I have very wavy hair, once my hair is blown out, it doesn't want to hold a curl. My hair looked so good, that very night, I order one for myself. The Chi volcanic lava does the trick, I love it!! The curling iron travels well, a little bulkier than other iron, but works better due to the cool shot of air. I just recently went to sunny-humid Florida and my curls held despite the moisture in the air. It's worth the extra price.

I haven’t used it much, my hair stylist has one and she can curl my hair in about 5 mins and it looks so good. It takes me about 30 mins. I am still working with it to cut my time down. The curls stay all day without any kind of hair spray in your hair.

I’ve been debating getting a Dyson or shark hair wrap or hot rollers. I have very long hair (down to my waist), and I have only use normal curling irons or wand before, which are ok but take a long time. My shoulders ache after curling all my hair, so I don’t do it often. For my birthday, I gifted myself the Chi Lava curling iron. I tried it for the first time today using a medium setting. After 5 min or less, I had a full head of awesome curls!! Omg omg omg, this thing is amazing! It heats up in a minute, and then that cold shot sets the curl. Already spreading the word to other friends and family :)

It didn’t work for me because it does not work on short hair. I have another curler which works for short hair better

I bought this on recommendation from tati. I also read multiple reviews from people who had experienced this curler and similar ones. I went with this one because I thought it would be kinder to my hair than the traditional metal heated curling devices. The beauty of this device is that you are not limited to how much hair you choose to curl at one time. I can make the curls as tight or as loose as I choose. My curles were soft and shiny. One thing I highly recommend is to use the glove that comes with this device. Wrapping your hair around this device can cause use to accidentally touch the barrel, causing you to burn your finger. Wear the glove.

I find this curling iron very difficult to use. It's cumbersome - I Keep burning my fingers- even using the glove on one hand. The cool shot doesn't seem to do what is supposed to do. I was unable to get "shiny & long-lasting curls" as promised. Probably best for a professional hair stylist not for an average consumer.
