Citrus Magic Solid Air Fresheners, Holly Jolly Peppermint, 7 oz, Pack of 3

Needed for an unused room that I spotted mice droppings in. Tried one out from a friend and was shocked. I chose to try this method bc plug-ins tear my sinuses up to the point of an infection. Now I will say that I need a mask when I open the door lol....BUT I have YET to see another dropping and it's been since Christmas. The scent seeps thru the walls and baseboards when placed on the floor and creates a very unattractive scent for "visitors". I am still able to light candles and my oil mist diffuser and enjoy the aroma (meaning, the scent is strong/lasting, but not overpowering). I also noticed that my plant bugs have disappeared, so I did some googling and found the peppermint scent is also a deterrent for flies, gnats, etc. Could have just been a one time thing...but I don't have time to find out. Was super excited to see that these were online. Just purchased my own batch as the scent is just now barely starting to fade. Great value.

I was very excited to receive this item as I've bought products from this company before and have always been pleased. The peppermint air freshener has almost no smell. I opened all three, put them in an 8 × 10 bedroom, and after a couple of hours went into the bedroom and could not smell the peppermint at all. If I put my nose all the way to the container there is a faint smell; that is all. The other scents I've bought from this company were quite strong and lasted for a few weeks. I was excited to buy these for my daughter's bedroom as she really enjoys the smell of peppermint. These were a total letdown and a complete waste of money. Sincerely, Disappointed

cant show photo of this not producing a scent. It smells great if you hold it under your nose. i placed all three next to my desk, near a small fan and CAN HARDLY smell these. I placed one of each into the bottom of my trash can. keeps the ants away, at least it was not a total waste of money !

Couple of years ago I bought this exact product. The scent lasted from the day I bought it in December and lasted till late June. I used it in my trunk where I keep my daily journey books. I bought this expecting the same level of quality. The scent is FAR fainter than it used to be but still running good. Though, the one in use dried out quite quickly even if it is giving a faint smell

December 2022 Update: New stock has arrived with a new label and the strength is what I’m used to. If you have tried them and felt (or read reviews stating) that they don’t have much of a scent, it’s most likely due to their being old stock in the warehouse. I have it on Subscribe and Save for every few months and the latest shipment is fresh and the label differs from what I received previously. I adjust my 4 stars to 5, hoping they continue to produce a peppermint option and make it a part of their regular rotation year round. This is by far the best and freshest scent they have come out with. We’ve been using Citrus Magic for years in our closets, cars, basement, etc. I always wished they’d make a peppermint, and they finally did, but it’s only seasonal. I was excited to see they were still offered on here and added to my Subscribe & Save. Unfortunately, the potency gets progressively less with each order. These may be left over stock from last winter and are just not as strong. Hoping they’ll come back with fresh stock for this year. This makes it hard to rate as the product is hands down 5 stars and my favorite, just displeased with recent stock.

Late in the season, we tried these to ward off the last of the indoor fruit flies. The flies don't seem to mind this. We don't know what that means about whether this is "real" peppermint or not. But we like the scent anyhow. Most other air fresheners smell "chemically." Not this. However, we feel a bit duped as we were JUST tonight out at a large box-store-who'll-remain-unnamed where we saw a double pack of this same air freshener for under $7. Do the math... Oh well. At least we know we like the smell. Update: After a couple of days with one of these in my car, I have to admit I don't smell anything. And it's near my dashboard. I thought I'd smell the soothing scent of peppermint, but I have to hold it right under my nose for that. For years in another car, I'd used the orange-scent Citrus Magic and could always smell that faintly, especially for the first month. But maybe this formulation is still good at keeping other smells out of the car. We'd like to know what the "fragrance" in each Citrus Magic is. Many years ago the label used to say no artificial scents/all natural. We notice this is no longer the case. The search for an effective, all-natural car deodorizer continues...

Update 10/8/2021: Mice came back this year. Bought more of these deodorizers but mice just won't leave now. It's a nightmare. I've tried everything I could think or researched. Sorry, it looks like they build ammunity to the smell or it's so cold they deal with the smell. Extremely annoying! I am about to tell you an excellent use for these deoderizers that I do not believe is mentioned anywhere and most people may not think of. Every winter I am invaded by mice. I can catch a couple in regular mouse traps, a couple in glue traps, a couple in electronic mouse traps and so on. I can never get totally rid of them until summer comes around. I know this because there are a few places where they leave their "trails" every single day. I even read that they don't like mint so I tried mint sprays and incense, which did not work either. However, I bought 6 of these and put them all over the house and cleaned their daily "trails". The mice moved out the same day! No more "trails" to clean up every day. If you have a mouse problem I would definitely recommend. Oh, I also bought some for my girlfriend and she has not seen any mice since then either!
