Great quality!
Simple to put together. The only items I had to attach to the frame were the arm/handles and the back brace. My only dissatisfaction came from the brakes being set so tight that the wheels would not move. I tried watching videos online for directions on how to loosen them but had no luck. Fortunately, my neighbor (who has race bikes) was able to take care of it for me. The switchable back brace and the foot rest are excellent and convenient features. It would be nice if the seat were more padded but since my purchase was to replace an older model Drive walker I expected it to be similarly hard plastic, and it is. For the people that mentioned the brake cables being too long, all you need to do is wrap them around the adjustable handles a couple of times before slipping them into the pipe. For the person who complained about not being able to line up the holes to insert the threaded knob (which adjusts the length of the arm handles) a flashlight can be used to shine through the hole, however I did not experience any problem lining them up so this is just a suggestion for those who need it.

Longevity and quality
A good product however the front left wheel somehow loosened so that the wheel would catch.tightened up and works great mother had similar one for about 20 years still holding up.

Versatile, well constructed and facilitated safe independence in elderly mom
I ordered this for my 92 year old mother. She loves the device! Her first impression was “it’s so easy to steer, I feel stable and secure and it’s a breeze to push ... I’m not exhausted walking anymore” ( unlike her old wheeled walker she can comfortably sit on it at tables and the height is perfect for those with hip/knee issues who have issues getting out of low chairs or restaurant booths. ) As a nurse I was impressed with the safety and stability and for the features that made it an asset to own eg the ability to allow her to be independent, and the ability for her to be able to set the brakes and simply “sit and rest” on the seat when she needed to. The walker is easily converted to a transport chair by merely depressing two buttons on the side, removing the foam back rest/Bar and reinserting them in the opposite factory made holes then snap into place .. then unfold the foot rest... this feature is easy to convert in less than 30 sec. (if you do a quick google search for drive medical duet dual device there’s an excellent video on you tube that shows these features in detail and the ease of use! ) In addition she uses the chair to allow her more options for dining in restaurants, MD visits, to enjoy reading by the window, or sitting outside to enjoy outdoor events. The device not only has sturdy handrails but easy to use brakes ( perfect to use for that extra safety and security when walking down hill! The hidden compartment under the seat with a precut slit is perfect for storing her portable oxygen and purse celll phone keys bottle of water and for threading her portable oxygen tubing thru ( thus eliminating the need to carry the 7# portable battery operated unit by hand) the only downside is it weighs about 22# so you might need someone to assist with picking it up to put into back seat of a car or the trunk of your car/suv/Taxi. Compared to other rollators the sturdiness and safety features outweighs this. I’m going to order a second one so she will have one for the house and another one for travel.

Good Concept but could use some improvements
My wife had knee replacement surgery. We bought this to enable her to get out to go places within days of her surgery without worrying if she could tolerate the length of any walking involved. When she did not want to walk any further, this unit easily converted to a mini wheel chair so she could ride and be pushed letting her be able to go out without the concern of overdoing the early walking. The unit worked really well for her needs. However, we have experienced two issues. First, if the person leans forward to reach something, the unit can tip forward and cause the person to fall out of it. Since the brakes on on the rear wheels, once it start tipping, it can easily roll backwards and cause the person to fall out of it. Second, since she had both knees replaced 5 months apart, the unit got quite a bit of use for both operations. It began to push hard and make clicking noises. These were caused by the wheel bearings failing. I have since had to replace the bearings in 3 of the 4 wheels and the bearing just fell apart when the wheel was removed. Fortunately, I discovered that the bearings used in skateboard and inline skates use the same size bearings and were less then $1 each. Each wheel uses two bearings. The wheel bearings simply are not durable enough to support the weight and side loading placed on them by this walker chair so if you plan to use it on an extended basis, you should expect to have to replace the wheel bearings. With good bearings, it rolls very easily. I am able to push my wife and a shopping cart at the same time to do our grocery shopping. Beyond the two issues discussed above, we love the chair. At 20 lbs, it is light and easy to put in and out of the car when folded. It enabled my wife to get out of the house and go places long before she would have been able to do so with a fixed walker, cane, or crutches.

Ferrari Convertible Walker
AWESOME Walker and capable of multiple ways to use. I am a 59 year who went through a major life event medical journey. I used it mostly in "walker and carrier mode" and at times sitting mode when cooking, getting tired or it doing something that I needed to sit. You do have to be careful when leaning over too much forward because it can tip over. It's just matter of training how to use and being careful as with anything. It worked awesome for me and I have had it for 8 months and it is still like new. I don't need to use it anymore, however I am addicted to this chair/walker/carrier. I now use it to carry things from room to room and I put a large food tray on seat to carry things. There is storage under the seat for misc things. It collapses for car trunk or back seat storage. My physical therapist trained me to put a sheet in back seat so I can pull it out easier when I was returning back to work and it helped saving damage to back seat. It does takes up quite a bit of room, so factor that in if you have a small car. From my first hand experience, I hated hospital walkers as the wheels were dangerous when using outdoors. I love that this walker's wheels are big with 360 turn features and it has brakes. I did buy accessories like a water bottle holder, carry bag to hang on handles. For me it was and still is a great product that will last me for a very long time. I love the fact that I can still use it as a carrier so I don't have to make lots of trips from room to room. Also the walker piece for your back could be changed to put in back side and front side. Because the way the handles are 2 lower and to higher it worked for me to turn walker around backwards to use lower handles to help me step down or up on a high step like going in and out of my garage. I loved that I could go for a walk and not be afraid of uneven or bumpy sidewalks. In essence this walker allowed me to be independent at home so I could do things at my pace without depending on others which was life changing. I lived alone and making the investment paid for itself in multiple ways that will last a lifetime. If I were going to any event that I would need a chair to sit, this chair would be my option as I could wheel it, carry things and sit. I would not be embarrassed to use this chair. As I get older, things happen, and when they do, I will still have my chair, I could be wheeled around, and use it as walker and carrier...and most definitely be prepared for what life brings. This chair/walker/everything is well made and will last a long time. I definitely would buy again if I needed to.

Better as a walker than transport wheelchair
I'm changing my review. My mother like it as a walker. It is unsafe as a transport wheelchair. But even as a walker, it is incredibly difficult to load into the car. The foot rest does not lock into place. I have crunched my fingers on more than one occasion because of it. The armrests do lock in place when you use them, but they do not lock into place when you are only using the walker - therefore when you slide in or out of the car, they catch on things and will open making it difficult to remove the walker or put it in. I really do not recommend this at all. If you want a walker - go with just a walker. If you want a transport chair find something a lot safer. I do like this but it is better as a walker than a transport wheelchair. I had hoped to use it as a wheelchair for my Mom for a family vacation - She likes to walk but gets tired, so I thought this would be the best of both worlds - I can push her when the walking becomes to much and we stay together as a family unit. This cannot transition between sidewalk and grass, for example without potentially throwing Mom out of the chair (it just lunged her forward when I tried as the chair came to a sudden stop - it could not roll onto the grass which was slightly higher than the sidewalk). Also at night, the electric cords came out and crossed the sidewalk - some were covered with rubber mats that had a slight incline, forming a very small bridge over the cord - the chair could not roll over and the sudden stop caused another lurching. As long as we remained on level sidewalk there was no issue pushing her. As a walker, it has some advantages over the drugstore models. It folds and pretty much stays in folded position without much trouble. It locks open, which is a nice feature. Another reviewer says it folds to a length of 44" but this is only if you keep the handles extended. My mother is short and the handles have to be in the lowest position, so it is not 44" in length. One thing, though - there is a different set of handles used for the wheelchair. Although they lock when they are up - they do not lock when they are down. This can be a problem as you are sliding it in/out of the car as they will open, complicating the process of getting it in and out of the car as they catch on things. The same can be true for the lower foot rest, but it doesn't happen as often as with the handles - still the footrest should lock in place also.

Absolutely great product; well made, functional, & attractive!
I did a lot of research for my 84 year old mother who recently had a stroke and receiving rehab therapy at home. She absolutely would not use a "hospital old lady" type walker, and will only consent to limited use of a wheelchair previously used for my father. My father is 85 and walks on the greenbelts by their house daily, and really missed their walks together. My mother needed a wheeled walker, but tires easily so important to be able to stop and rest. The best part about the Duet Transport Chair/Rollator is that she can part walk, part sit, and even be pushed back to the house by one of us if she is too tired to walk and still enjoy nature, family closeness, and beautiful day outside! I LOVE THIS WALKER! It encompasses everything looking for through research. While it is being used as a walker Lacey, 9 lb Maltese dog, can ride in the little pouch under the seat (blanket in pouch, attach short leash to side bar for safety and use stretch tie to hold seat up) when she tires. When in the transport position, my mother holds Lacey in her lap for the ride home. Note: would NOT use for larger dog than 10 lbs for safety reasons, nor an active one that might try to jump out! My mother is 5'6" and 120lbs, but with a 300 lb weight limit, my 5'11" father should be able to use it as well if needed. It is absolutely perfect for our needs and extremely good quality; very solid and stable, well engineered (according to my father with a Masters in engineering), and relatively simple to transform from walker to transport chair. Also, thank you so much Amazon for your fast shipping. We got it a day earlier than expected! This is why I always try to use Amazon when the prices are comparable. Best of all, my hard to please fashionable mother likes it, and uses it! I definitely recommend the Duet Transporter/Walker! ~ A grateful daughter

Funcional y efectivo.
Mi madre me habla bien del producto, fácil de operar y eficiente, mucho mejor que la andadera.

Light, sturdy and well made
Identifying the right rollator can be tricky especially with differing health conditions of the users. There may other models out there but this particular model has proved very functional & useful. It's also very sturdy. The only thing I'll highlight is that because of the size of the front wheels we have noticed is that it can get stuck in a rut or uneven surface. My advice would be to raise the front wheels over the uneven surface or for the person to get off the rollator. All in all a good product.

Excelente
