This is what it is described which is a solder iron, a very cheap one at that. This does not charge it contain no battery! Also, once you plug it in, it is on, you must unplug to turn off. This is very cheaply made and I was extremely diddapointed as to how long it takes to actually melt the solder:( unless you have VERY STEADY HANDS THAT HOLD STEADY FOR MINUTES, this I'd nor for you. Also, the micro USB inlet on the iron is about as terrible as they come! It took me a good 10 minutes to get the power cord plugged into it without causing any damage. And now that it's plugged in I will just leave it plugged in to the iron full time. Not connected to the wall or any power outlet for that matter, other than while in use,lol! For the price, and sold for purpose I think it's a pretty good. But this is one of those things that someone who uses a solder iron once every 6-9 months for odds and ends, it's perfect for them! Not someone who uses it alot or has any sort of bigger job than maybe repairing a key fob! That's what I did, and it worked pretty ok!

This draws 1.3 Amps on high (red light mode) so it works with portable 5V battery packs. Tried using with both 2.4 Amp battery packs and wall chargers. Can do light duty solder work with 20 gauge wire or smaller. Any larger and the wire acts as a heat sink and the tip cools down too much to melt solder. Work area can't have moving air (fan or outdoors), cools the tip to much.

Nice for small electronics but wont work with too big soldering joints. It cannot melt solder for the big motor pads on ESC for fpv drones but works with smaller solder like a flight controller for drones. Overall it very portable and can be helpfull on the field

People will hate me for this but as stated customer service was 100%. Was thinking of cheating this company and tell them that I received a defective item but the truth is there is a sequence for the solder pen to work normally. And lastl, for it to work comparably to or equal to for example Hakko is you need 2 of this to work especially if you are outside and there is no such thing as HOT PLATE to warm up you boards/ housing.

Used it to do a broken wire repair. Worked fine

No battery so it has to be plugged in to hit. You click once when it's plugged in and it just continuously activates until you hit the button again. Button is jiggly. For the price, it's what you pay for so I can't take too many stars off. It works, but the lack of mobility can't be overlooked

I was kept being told that USB solder iron was no good until i got this. Wow 3 heat settings and a fine tip for under the microscope work. Worth all the money and is so light to use just like a pen.
