Very nicely made and love the 3D effect on cover with train

This is very beautiful, I have an infinity for steampunk gears and an obsession with Keys. The front and back of this journal is impressive. So far sturdy, but if it changes I will update. I read that the smell of some of these journals are awful, but the smell of mine is fine to me. I love the bronze pages the most! I can't wait to dig my pen into this! I'm a heavy handed writer. But these pages are a little thicker as stated. My son got the first scribbles in! I am also thinking of gifting one to my nephew who loves trains! Maybe when he's older though.

Based on other journal purchases I have made online from various other vendors, I was half expecting that I would need to return this because of low quality, or the artwork not being as pictured. Was I ever pleasantly surprised when this arrived! Not only is the artwork well-done, but the craftsmanship of the journal itself is top-rate. I've been using this for a few months now, and the binding is sturdy and the pages stay intact. The pen is of equal high quality. The only two complaints I have about the pen are: (1) It's VERY heavy; too heavy to write comfortably. (2) The ink runs out within about 25 pages or writing. The only complaint I have with the actual journal is the darker page colors. (Some pages are a nice, pale tannish color, but some are very dark, which makes the writing difficult to see--especially because by the time you get to the dark pages, the ink in the pen is out. Even switching to a very dark black marker, the writing on the darker pages is difficult to read. What was the purpose of the alternating dark pages?! I don't get it.

When it arrived, I opened the package and was utterly taken away by how beautiful and 3-dimensional this journal is. We're talking straight out of a fantasy movie here. It is simply exquisite. I wouldn't say it's the best quality ever, the 3D effect is quite sudden if looking at the book from any angle other than straight on, but the detailing and design more than makes up for that one tiny drawback. I stared at it for a good five minutes just in utter awe as it infused the room and my imagination with magic and wonder. It's the perfect journal for my wellness journey because up until I received it, I absolutely hated journal-writing.
