How long should you bake for? The directions are confusing. Ours curled up and never flattened back out.

I baked my for 45 seconds, I had a couple curl up as well if the didn't flatten on their own in took them out hot and applied pressure to flatten them back out.

Are the Ruff and Ready ones clear when shrunk?

No they keep a matte surface after baking

are these waterproof after shrinking? Especially if you use sharpie?

These are waterproof but for extra protection so the sharpie and/or colored pencil doesn't scratch off, I sealed both sides with a few coats of Mod Podge. Hope that helps!

Can you use paint on these?

I would definitely recommend using ink based acrylic paint! I would think any kind of acrylic paint would do so long as you don’t put a super thick layer on it. Make sure it’s 100% dry before baking. I wouldn’t recommend any water color paints since they would bleed any way and the color wouldn’t be as vibrant.
