Highly Effective Solution at a Very Affordable Cost.
Great product and does what it says on the box. At last I have found the solution to preventing condensation build up every winter in my 22 year old convertible; which sits on my driveway as I do not have a garage. Living in Scotland - rain and damp are a constant problem and this simple but extremely effective solution is somewhat miraculous. The instructions are easy and clear to follow and the colour change always apparent and very visible. The bags dry quickly in the microwave for using again to absorb excessive moisture and positioning them in the car is extremely easy. An effective and extremely affordable way to prevent the build up of condensation in any vehicle. I am so glad that I made this purchase and no longer need to wipe away huge excesses of condensation every time I want to drive my car during the winter months.

Great product
Bag is a simple but effective solution for reducing moisture and condensation inside car. It absorbs a good amount of damp, helping to keep windows clear and prevent that annoying morning fog. The reusable design is a big plusyou can easily dry it out in the microwave and use it again, making it cost-effective and eco-friendly. The price and size are plus.

Reusable car dehumidifier that genuinely reduces condensation and is easy to refresh
I’ve been using these in the car for a while now, mainly to keep the windscreen and side glass clear overnight. They do exactly that. After a damp day, there’s a clear reduction in condensation the next morning, and it’s noticeable enough that I’d miss them if they weren’t there. Each bag comes exactly as described with the blue bag and the colour change spot on the top. They are quite weighty but with some give to the material inside and so easily stay in position. They’re simple to live with. The colour indicator works well and reacts quickly, even to a stray raindrop when I am carrying them to and from the car, so it’s obvious when the bag has taken on moisture. That said, they never quite return to the bone-dry feel they had when first new unless they go in the microwave. Air-drying or leaving them on a radiator only takes them down to the surrounding humidity, which makes sense but is worth knowing. That’s about 50% in my house in the winter. Recharging in the microwave works fine and brings them back into proper working shape. Having two bags is genuinely useful, as one can be drying while the other stays in the car. Size-wise, they sit neatly on the dashboard without getting in the way. I don’t use the mats that came with them and these are unnecessary in my view. At about £15.99 for a pair, they feel like good value if you want something reusable rather than disposable sachets. They’re effective, straightforward and do the job they’re meant to do, even if the drying step needs a bit of attention. ✔️

These packs really remove dampness and humidity.
I was a bit dubious concerning the claims of this product but I needn’t have been concerned. It works extremely well. No more demisting the windscreen and other windows in morning can just jump in vehicle and drive. After 3 weeks and Storm Ingrid and Storm Chandra the blue spot started turning pink so wrapped the pack in kitchen paper towel and placed in microwave full power for 10 minutes. At 1000 watt power the Microwave steamed up after 5 minutes. I continued with the Microwave until 10 minutes. Best to use oven gloves when removing pack from Microwave because it is HOT. The kitchen roll tissue was soggy moist and when pack had cooled down it still felt moist to touch, so I repeated the drying process in Microwave for further 10 minutes of drying. After this second drying process the kitchen roll was a little damp and the pack felt slightly damp when allowed to cool. So I agree with some reviews that these packs need a longer time to be dried out in Microwave. But with regard to the dampnest and humidity in vehicles or where applied these packs really do the job in preventing dampness and humidity. After drying out I returned this pack to my car and a week later after having weighed the pack I found it had absorbed 1/2 pint of water so it does what it says on the pack and keeps the humidity out of my car. After replacing microwave these packs will melt microwaved for too long as I found out when I forgot the replacement microwave is more powerful. So a word of CAUTION, DO NOT OVER DO SETTING TIME IN MICROWAVE. TO REMOVE 250 ml (250g) of water a setting of 15 - 20 minutes is about the time required for pack to be microwaved in a 1000 watt microwave. These packs weigh 1000g (1kg) when dry and any additional weight in grams is amount in ml in water absorbed from humidity inside car or where the pack has been used.

They have limitations
If you know much about condensation and humidity, like me you would probably be sceptical about these. I bought the 1kg pack and put it on the van dash over night. So this is in my camper and I stayed overnight. In the morning the windscreen was saturated and more so in the side where these were. So I’m not saying they are not working? But understanding condensation, If there is a huge cold area, ie the windscreen, it will massively attract the moisture in the air, so much more than these bags. They work on the principle of adsorption, not absorption, like so many people think. They are not a quick fix and will no way clear your windscreen overnight. They just cannot keep up with the condensing power of a large area of cold glass. I have no doubt they will take on moisture, but will they solve any problem, Any vehicle is open to atmosphere via the ventilation system, clue in the name, so what moisture are you actually collecting? I think they are more a longer term solution not short term because, they do not attract the moisture, they probably reduce it in their immediate area and that is replaced by air movement. I think the marketing ploy is the colour changing disc, which can be the case with any silica gel container. I remain sceptical, because they cannot attract condensation by normal means, ie cold surface, like a dehumidifier does. Long term wise in a car they will take on moisture, but I cannot be convinced they take away inherent wet windows?

These do work well but microwave time is vastly understated
These are 1kg bags (x2) They will last approx. 1 week in high humidity before they are saturated (blue spot turns pink) The saturated weight will be approx. 1.32kg (that is 32% not the stated 40% - they are also not the higher quality round silicate beads, they are rough and not uniform in shape) The microwave instruction to place for 12mins in 600w (or 80% power in a 850w for example) is completely inacurate and very misleading. You will need to microwave each bag for 4 to 5 times 12 mins each (40-50 mins total, each), and mop out the inside of the microwave and replace the paper towel wrap before the weight gets anywhere close back to the unsaturated weight of 1kg. These are however, a good product, and work well. Tip: make sure the blue/purple spot is always facing upward in the microwave. If on the underside it will get damaged by the extreamly hot liquid that will collect on the underside of the bag.

Disappointing performance — ruined my dashboard!
I bought this Hillington dehumidifier pack to keep moisture out of my car, but it did a very poor job. Even with both packs placed inside, I was constantly getting mould forming in my car when it was parked up for a while. The indicator dot stayed blue for a short time initially, but as soon as it turned pink after the first use, things went downhill. From then on, they needed microwaving every few days to dry out, and getting that pink circle to turn back to blue became almost impossible. I initially thought the included anti-slip pads were going to be the best part of the product, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case either. During the recent heatwave, the pad literally melted all over my dashboard, causing permanent damage. Extremely disappointed with these. If you're looking for something that actually works, check out my other reviews where I've covered a far better alternative that actually gets the job done.
