SAFAVIEH Hudson Shag Rug 8x10, Plush Trellis Large Ivory & Grey SGH282A

Bought the same rug several years ago and we liked it so much that we just bought it again. Our family of five plus two dogs had it for four years in our main family room before it started looking worn in the high traffic areas and in front of the couch where you sit. At such a reasonable price we chose to replace the old one to get that brand new fluff instead of cleaning the old one. It’s super soft and plush, looks nice, is durable, and very affordably priced for the quality you get!

Love this rug! It was exactly what I was hoping to find. The color is just enough off-white that it hasn't even started to show any wear or dirt after 2 months and still looks new which is awesome considering I have 3 small dogs and a cat who are on it all day-every day. It is so soft, plush and cozy that they love to lay and play on it all day. While it is more plush than I would normally have bought - I am so glad that I did it because it is so inviting and makes my living room so much more cozy. It really fluffs up nicely too when you vacuum it. I do not have a rug pad under it at this point as I do not think it is necessary for my purposes but if you really wanted it to be extra comfy you could put one under it. I have a grey couch and dark wood furniture so it really helps to brighten up my space as well. Can't say enough good things about it! I think this is a great value for the price especially with the free shipping.

This is the 8x10 Ivory and Grey area rug. The ivory is much lighter than in the first picture as the lamp lights aren't giving off the best light. This rug is thick and just beautiful. Very well made and so incredibly soft and cool to the touch. Easy to vacuum. I am thrilled with this purchase. Excellent value for your money! A++++

We love this rug! I’m so happy we were able to find such a good buy on Amazon. I was hesitant at first to make such a big purchase without seeing it in person or feeling it, but I don’t regret this purchase one bit! It is so soft and matches our decor perfectly. I know some people complained about there being an odor when they first opened it, but it’s not bad or overpowering. It just has that new smell. We’ve had it for a couple of weeks and the smell is practically gone without having sprayed anything. I’m sure if we sprayed something like Febreze it would have gone away sooner. Would purchase again!

We were surprised by the quality of this rug. It is so plush I can't keep my dogs off of it. They think it's their new huge personal bed. They love it and so do we. It came rolled up but as soon as it was unrolled it laid flat. We are very pleased with this purchase and would recommend this to anyone.

This is the 2nd time we've purchased this ivory/gray 8x10 in about 1 year. THE GOOD (actually, great!): This rug is SO GORGEOUS, LUXURIOUS & MODERN yet would work easily in a traditional setting. It's truly like walking on a cloud. We put a .25" rug pad underneath and it's unbelievably soft and invites you to sleep on it like a heavenly bed. I love, love, LOVE it! Our Dyson upright and Dyson stick both work just fine on this rug. The super thick pile occasionally bogs the beater down on both (I know they say suction only for this style of rug, but the beater really helps 'fluff' it back up without damaging it). Spills have been easy to spot clean. Price is great. THE BAD: It quickly fades regardless of the fact that it has no direct sun exposure and 2x's+ weekly vacuuming. We assumed on the 2nd purchase that we had the last of a dye lot on the first purchase when we saw how vibrant the gray design was on the 2nd purchase. However, when we removed the old original rug, we saw that the portion under our sectional was still the deeper gray. The high traffic area also matted down quickly. Even with the bad, IMHO this rug is STILL worth the reasonable cost (even if it requires replacing every 1-2 years (depending on your habits). It's THAT cool! ADVICE: For those considering this rug, my advice is to invest in a quality rug rake (we purchased ours on Amazon) and use it before and after each vacuuming to manage matting. To try & prevent fading again, we're going to try what's found when googling 'salt water to prevent carpet fading'. UPDATE: It was a HUGE mess and didn't work on this rug so don't bother. TIP ON CURLED EDGES & CORNERS: I've read lots of reviews for all sorts of rugs where people are placing objects on the edges & corners and/or just waiting it out hoping they relax down. Some even return the product because they won't relax. If you just grab the section that's wavy or curled and bend it in the opposite direction and then squeeze and hold that for a few seconds it will release. In all rugs with this type of backing I find that within 1-3 tries as described it'll lay perfectly flat. If the mfg. is reading this review, PLEASE upgrade the dye used in this rug. If you did it would be mind blowing 10 stars! UPDATE: The 2nd rug began fading in no time and the high traffic area also began to mat down just like the first. To deal with the fading, I carefully, randomly and sparingly blotted the pattern with a black sharpie. It brought the color right back to life. After the initial fear of taking a marker to a rug it was no big deal and didn't take long at all on our 8x10 size. The marker stays in place even with regular use of high traffic area foam cleaner & lots of raking and vacuuming. Still love this rug but not the constant raking of the high traffic area. This rug is absolutely beautiful. It’s exactly what I wanted and not at all what I was expecting to get! It’s thick and soft and feels soooooo nice under the feet! I’m honestly in shock that I got this nice of a rug for the price!

The carpet in my apartment bedroom is a dark brown disgusting color and appears like carpet you would find in a hotel. So I purchased this carpet to brighten up the room and feel nice on my feet. Little did I know that my bedroom door and closet doors are too low to the ground, so when I put the carpet/rug in my room, I couldn’t open any of the doors without lifting the rug and folding it over.... After long debates with my boyfriend and endless days of getting stuck in my bedroom because the door would get jammed from the rug (just kidding) I decided to just use it in the living room area of my apartment and it looks great and is super soft! I love it! In conclusion....make sure you check the elevation of your doors before you buy this for rooms it may come in contact with doors. Other than that, I definitely recommend buying this!
