Frustrating for old farts! Not for amateurs!
I bought this for a grandchild for Christmas. She loves this kind of thing and I thought she would enjoy it. They are a little steep in price and I must say, I was a bit surprised when it arrived in a tiny little 2.5 x 2.5 inch box, (From the pics, I was expecting something about double that size). I wanted to be certain I was getting a decent quality item, so I removed it from the box and started messing around with it to check quality and entertainment value. Well, we are now 3 days closer to Christmas since it arrived and I am no closer to getting back into that 2.5 x 2.5 box it came in. It is ridiculous how many times I have tried to fold it back into a tiny little square! To be honest, I simply feel frustrated with the whole damn thing. I even had ideations of tearing it apart and gluing it back together. (Then I remembered what I paid and I thought better of it.) The quality certainly seems decent. I am basing that on the fact that it didn't come apart yet and I think I have folded it every which way to Sunday. On the upside, my granddaughter is probably going to love it! She is just 9 yrs old, but will probably get it back in the box in 5 minutes!! So, I guess what I am reluctantly saying, is that I think the entertainment value is there. I still have 20 days to get some help (probably from a kid!) with getting this back in the box it came in. Otherwise, I will find a new box to wrap it in and keep the old box - so I can show the granddaughter how it looked when I got it. It is a little embarrassing that I have found this to be so difficult. But, I am trying to be transparent here and forewarn you that UNLESS you have some help from a genius (ok maybe exaggerating there), DO NOT take it out of the box to try it out if it is a gift for someone else! If they weren't so darn expensive, I would have simply just ordered another one and kept this one for my dumb self. ๐ EDIT: 01/24/23 - I did order a second one for myself (and company) Mind you, I did not even get it out until several days after Christmas. Today is the 24th of January and so we maybe had it opened 3 weeks. It has been played with quite a bit by kids and adults alike, however it is tearing apart at one of the seams. So, frankly we are a bit disappointed for spending $20 on something we thought we would enjoy a bit longer. After only 3 weeks, it is clear this one is not going to last much longer. I guess on the upside, $20 is really pretty cheap entertainment these days, when you consider the cost of going to a movie or bowling, eating out or any other activity. We probably did get at least $20 worth of entertainment, but still. ๐ข

Very neat. Kinda pricy
Very interesting. Little over priced though for what its made of and its function. Would still buy again

The sticker came off in two days :(
My granddaughter loved this toy, and she was very disappointed when the sticker came off after only two days of play. The concept is good, but it is cheaply made. She can't play with it now and we'll have to throw it away. It's frustrating and a waste of money.

Ok for Children not adults
Itโs good for a child maybe but itโs too easy to figure out as an adult. It seems to only go back into a cube in its original pattern so its just the same pattern over and over.

Neither a "fidget" nor a "toy": disappointing waste of money!
The description and images advertised it as a fun fidget toy. It might make a nice decoration if you don't have enough dust collectors for your shelves and can get it into a shape that shows your preferred surface colors within just a FEW maneuvers. (To my eye, the colors are ALL mismatched, so I chose the one that had the most blue & purple surfaces in the photos & only ONE mostly orange side, which is the only side showing in its original shape.) Unfortunately, as confirmed by most disappointed 3-star-and-lower reviews, which I'd have read if I weren't rushed to buy other things I'd been wanting at Black Cyberweek prices, with this being recommended to me as an autistic fidget toy, the surface is made of PAPER/very-thin cardboard, making it fragile and prone to collecting fingerprints, while the magnets are "Ultra Strong," requiring a lot of force to separate them to change the shape. I managed to figure out TWO shapes that show the purple and/or blue sides, & now that I've read the 1-, 2-, & 3-star reviews, I'm glad I didn't try to force the magnetic sides apart. Things others have complained about were its size (plenty big for my adult hands; certainly not a fidget toy you could manipulate unobtrusively, & the magnets click loudly when you DO manage to make a new shape out of it without tearing it), excessive price, and fragility. It was about $10 cheaper for the holiday sales than it is currently. No way would I EVER recommend buying this as a fidget OR a toy for $25 or even more! In fact, if you give this to an autistic person, expect it to CAUSE rather than prevent a meltdown! I'm glad I read more reviews before trying to continue manipulating it as my concern about what I expected would happen if I had was confirmed. People complained about the "stickers," if that's what they are, coming off as well as the entire thing that's held together by the paper tearing apart & rendering it useless. The decorative paper or very-thin-cardboard surface are no match for the truly "Ultra Strong Magnets" that are very hard to pull apart. It definitely feels like, if I do try to force the magnets apart, the paper surface holding the whole thing together will just tear at any or all of the corners and edges while I struggle to get the patterns I actually LIKE (for which I purchased it thinking I could hide the orange side the way the blues & purples are hidden inside the cube when I bought it) to show on the outside. Contrary to the name, "Shishibo" is only a "box" when you first get--NOT a "fidget" and NOT a "toy." And (based on other reviews by people who bought this for kids & how I would feel if I'd received this back then) is definitely NOT "Fun for KIDS." Unless your kids' idea of "fun" is easily destroying expensive gifts. Don't throw away your money (it's not even worth the $15 I got it for on sale) unless you plan to leave it in its original shape for display purposes only when you can go to the craft store instead, buy some decorative paper, & tear it up much more affordably!!!

Does NOT Look like the images
I have a few of these already, they're good fidgets and fun to put together, and I ordered this one because it looked pretty. It came in only to find out the images on the cube dont match the product images At All and they're very obviously AI generated. It looks so bad compared and its incredibly upsetting :( I can't even ignore it because its just glaringly obvious I'm so sad about this

Not worth it
I had my eye on this for a little while, so a few months ago I decided to buy it as a gift for my niece. I'm 40 years old, but I enjoy fidget toys & I have a small collection of a variety of fidgeting thingies myself. So, I thought this would be an entertaining gift. When I received it, I thought the colors are cool & pretty & I couldn't help but test it out myself first before gifting it. I figured that if I love it then I'll purchase a second one. It was entertaining for several days, & even my husband fiddled with it even though he doesn't fidget with things like I do. So, I decided to keep it. After that we mostly lost interest in it though. I get a satisfying feeling when I feel & hear the magnets click together as I fidget & reshape it; However, the magnets are not that strong, & so they only click together when fidgeted into certain shapes & forms. I believe that if the magnets were stronger, then I would enjoy it a lot more. The product is also big & bulky. So, possibly too big for tiny or fragile hands. I recently got a couple of cuts on my hand from something else. I reached for this fidget cube, & when it lightly banged on my fingers on the injured area where it's scabbed & sore, it hurt- so I immediately put this product down to avoid it for several days. Sensitive fingers or not, I find myself reaching for my smaller fidget thingamabobs more often than this item, which is a little expensive for what it is. I played with it just today though while sitting around watching tv, & even right now at this moment while typing this. It's not bad, but it's also not my favorite. Get it if you'd like to add a magnetic thing to your fidget or cube collection, but I also think you're not missing out if you decide to pass on it.

Great
The quality is great as it is an original Shashibo product. But, it took a lot of time to come as it is an internationally imported product
