Smooth casting, great sensitivity.
I purchased this pole for my 10 yr old son. When I opened the box, the pole was well packaged and came exactly as described. The color was even better than the picture showed, and after rigging it for use...I was pleasantly surprised at how well this rod and reel handle. Crazy smooth cast, and has great sensitivity for even the smallest of fish. The only thing I'd recommend doing, is stripping the line it comes with, and replacing it. The line tangled, and snapped very easily. I would definitely recommend this rod and reel combo (with different line).

Great rod & reel for the money!
I've grown quite fond of this rod & reel. I've only just recently got back into fishing after many years of not fishing. Didn't want to spend a bundle until I knew what I was doing, maybe not even then. It's too bad so many people got lemons according to the reviews. I've fished the heck out of this rod & reel and so far it has not let me down whether it be windy, lots of current, snags, or what have you. I've had no issues whatsoever. Update: I caught a big fish yesterday on this rod and reel. The rod I still really like. But the reel was awful retrieving the fish. the drag was working off and on and I spent most of my time adjusting and readjusting again and again yet the drag still wouldn't work properly. I never had this problem before and caught some fair sized fish. Perhaps it just wears out after a few months so it went from 5 starts to 3 :(

Swing and a miss
My son wanted to buy this as a birthday gift to his brother. I took it out as a back up rod to give it a try and I was less than impressed. Casting is not smooth, snap back is hard, and reeling in feels like it will break at any minute.
