Very good...
Easy to set up, no sticky glue, or anything. Just put some peanut butter and click. I purchased this 4 pack and also almost identical product from a different brand. They all work well...I installed them around the perimeter of my house and got them the next day. Well, I didn't know that it is reusable...so today, I checked the trap and a poor chipmunk was caught. I put gloves and mask on...took a deep breath and tried to release the trap to throw away the chipmunk... It was kind of attached to it so did not come out...I tried to shake a little then I saw a gut was sticking out at the bottom of the trap...so I just put the whole trap in the trash bag, tied it hard and threw away in the trash bin... So it works really well for me. I could catch them before they get into my house. It also lured chipmunks, which was unfortunate... and I have no guts to reuse it...I just can't....

A trap that really works!
We have a small farm here and usually have some rats near the chicken pen. Weโve tried every rat trap possible and none of them have been very successful maybe one or two rats caught and thatโs it. We purchased the three pack of these rat traps and in every single one we caught a rat. We were so impressed with these that we purchased quite a few more and place them everywhere. We think there might be rat activity. We check every couple of days and usually there is a rat trapped in one of these snap traps. Thereโs a little cup that is underneath that you unscrew and you put peanut butter inside and then you put the cat back in and twist it closed. The peanut butter attracts rats and mice and once they step into the trap to take a bite of the peanut butter it snaps down on them trapping them. These traps are by far the best and most accurate at catching rats and mice, especially in Barnes and around other animals. The trap quality is very sturdy. Itโs very easy to use and you catch rats and mice very easily. I highly recommend these as theyโre small, but a very large rat can fit into it and be trapped. Other small animals will not go in it and we have not had any problems with our chickens or the baby chicks getting into these traps. So they are very safe and actually work better than anything weโve ever tried! Highly recommended.

Most times kills
Bought these rat traps to catch roof rats. Unfortunately, a very small opening between our custom tub and wall allowed enough of a gap for a roof rat to find it's way into the bathroom. We wanted a fast, humane way to capture and kill the rat and one which wouldn't leave a body somewhere rotting where it was difficult to find like poison might do, plus poison seems really awful. We have other pets so this seemed the safest route. There is a very tiny cup in the bottom of the trap that you very easily unscrew, remove and put peanut butter in then replace. Then easily set the trap. We already knew the route this rat was taking so put the trap there and in less than 24 hours we caught the rat! Bingo on the first try. Couldn't be happier. The trap worked like a charm. From all we have read, roof rats can't resist peanut butter. The rat is NOT mushed up by the trap, just broken neck or suffocate s quickly so there is NO mess. Set two more traps and caught two more in the next 12 hrs. outside. Wish our neighbors didn't have fruit trees, then we might not have these buggers around. Lived here over 20 years and never saw a rat till 2 years ago. Pros: Easy to fill bait cup, easy to set trap, not messy when it kills, easy to empty killed rodent into plastic bags, good size so will catch roof rats and probably little mice, no poison, fast/humane. Anyone who says these broke after one use must have been really stepping on the trap. We are just using our hands to reset the trap since it seems easier. We highly recommend this trap if you have a rodent problem. Cons: Does not always kill the rodents and they are still alive for hours in the trap unless you have another way to kill them. We find this VERY disturbing and inhumane. Several rats have been "crying" and trying to escape only to exhaust themselves to death. I think the trap just eventually suffocates them as they wiggle and breathe. Would be better if the trap was tighter to be sure of an instant kill than to be totally bloodless and inhumane. Not sure if a pet can get their paw into the sides or not? (Just don't place it where they could). This trap all depends on exactly where the rodent gets caught in the trap as to if it kills outright or not. Most have died pretty quickly after the trap snaps but it's heartbreaking to hear and see those who do not die instantly.

Use peanut butter, great traps
Iโm still catching mice years later. Iโm buying some more! Very good traps

These are not very useful.
Setiing everything up is easy and it attracts rodents, but it can't seem to catch one. Rodents keep setting the traps off, managing to avert death. I have yet to catch one after two months. The idea is good, but it doesn't work.

Effective, safe, easy
A better rat trap than the old style! Easy to set, easy to empty, quick humane kill at the neck with no blood or guts. 1) identified where rats moved by looking for subtle trails and signs, 2) enlisted help from my dog by praising him when I showed him dead rat and he now knows the word and will sniff out and show me where they going under the porch, house, and garden. Itโs a new game for him and his nose is always right. 3) trap trained rats for a week before I set it using a little sweet fragrant fruit peels like mango or peach that they seek in my garden, and put peanut butter and raisins in trap center to teach them to eat unfamiliar food 4) once they saw trap as a food source I set them in the evening with peanut butter and raisins in bait station and sprinkled a few enticement raisins in and beside tunnel to build their confidence in entering death zone. 5) Immediate success, from juvenile to large adult tree rats (rattus rattus). So far no wildlife, like squirrels or field mice, have entered trap even though they also rob my garden and fruit trees which I tolerate and let raptors and snakes manage. Keeping traps up against the house and areas with a lot of daytime human activity and only setting the traps at night helps keep native wildlife from being killed.

SMALLER/SINGLE ENTRY, TRIED AND TRUE WORKS BEST
For some reason, this one doesn't work. , the electronic doesn't work very well for me either.( Sometimes it catches deer mice, but not rats.) Some how they figure out how to get the bait without setting either of these two types off. On the double entry, perhaps the trip step it too tight, and with the electronic maybe the electrical power not strong enough. Instead try using the old stand by, tried and true simple single smaller trap. (See photo) Use peanut butter mixed in with tiny parts of meat). Good luck, rats are really strong and smart! But if you see poop, get'em, because their poop carries Hantavirus. It kills people. Google how Gene Hackman died.

Safe, effective, management of rats.
A snake chased 5 babies and a mom out of a flowerbox. Have a greatfruit tree nextdoor. We have a water feature and bird house, so we are asking for it. Terminix will only use poison and sticky traps. We knew poison will risk killing natural predators, sticky traps catch any thing, so we wanted a clap trap enclosed with an entrance accessible to rats. Caught 4 juveniles in three days. Two in first trap. Concerned strength may not kill quickly and snakes may seek shelter, but design is a great compromise. Bait cup is also a great idea. Used slim Jim's stuck in peanut butter. Put pineapples in the entrance. Will buy more! Updating 5/2025 after 3 repeat buys. Slim Jims work well. Drilled small screw in bottom of bait cup, screw slim jim onto screw so they have to pull on it. Video showed rat turning away, will assume he can smell something from previous kill. Unfortunately, killed 2 snakes. True I have had to drop the trap into a bucket of water when rat was still alive a few times. That happens in all traps. Generally works well and better than poison professional's use. Squirrels may go after the peanut butter, but ignore slim jim. Possums beat the trap up trying to get to the bait and twice will eat a trapped rat. Surprisingly, racoons ignore it.
