However, I noticed some buildup still left behind in the drum and around the seal even after multiple uses. For regular maintenance, they work fine, but if your machine needs a more thorough cleaning, you might need something stronger.

After repairing our Kenmore (Samsung) washing machine I decided to do something that we had never done before...I ran a cleaning cycle using a cube of this washing machine cleaner. The stainless steel tub of our machine came out sparking like new. I figure that if we would have been using washing machine cleaner once per month I might not have had to do such a major repair job of replacing the Spider Arm at the motor-end of the stainless wash tub in the first place. (Just my stupid frugal nature) I now highly recommend using a washing machine cleaner on a regular maintenance schedule once per month to keep the equipment free of harmful deposits and galvanic processes left inside the washing machine after doing laundry. I learned the hard way!
