This first-ever U.S. release of this spectacular 1982 concert proves that even at age 66, Francis Albert Sinatra was still the undisputed Chairman Of The Board. Recorded at the Altos De Chavรณn Amphitheatre in La Romana, the Dominican Republic, this 90-minute epic performance features the legendary Buddy Rich on drums and a special guest appearance by guitarist Tony Mottola on a memorable rendition of Send In The Clowns. Theme From New York, New York Review: Sinatra at his Most Charismatic, Aging Gracefully Here - Frank was a little past his prime when this live concert was performed, but he was in terrific form in this early 80s show. His bluesy rendition of "Come Rain or Shine" takes Don Costa's great chart and makes it grittier, sans the massive string section. "Best Is Yet to Come" is as solid a rendition of the Cy Coleman song as I've ever seen or heard. "I Won't Dance" swings, and Franks's drummer Irv Cottler places the perfect, powerful accents to kick Sinatra higher. Speaking of Cottler, you won't see Buddy Rich behind Sinatra, but that's fine. Cottler knew every nook and cranny of Sinatra's rhythmic phrasing and knew how to fire up his boss. It's Buddy's band, augmented by french horns and virtuoso Tony Mottola, along with a couple of other Sinatra regulars. There is a break in which Buddy comes out and does his classic "West Side Story", with a typically explosive drum solo. I have a friend who attended this concert in the Dominican Republic who told me Buddy collapsed after his performance from the stifling heat & humidity. You'll note he didn't even wear a hairpiece...somehow, Sinatra looked comfortable. No, it's not HD, the audio is okay but not up to the best technologies of today...but this is one of the best Sinatra live concerts you'll find. 'S Wonderful. SEnd in the Clowns
This was a fantastic performance, with some background information added as well. Glad to see a coming together of the Americas! Would have enjoyed more of his classic music being added, but several of his newer songs were presented. Blew me away with his rendition of "Send in the Clowns". It was nice that he introduced his wife, as well as several of his fellow performers.

A magnificent concert!
Sinatra floats back and forth across the stage in full command of his powers. At 67 Sinatra is in full voice and his delivery is immaculate. Riding the wave of the Buddy Rich orchestra classics are delivered effortlessly and the audience is affectionately responsive, it's a great time for all. This is a very special concert full of talent that we may never see the likes of again. As a special treat Buddy Rich absolutely explodes like a stick of dynamite when he takes the spotlight. Off the charts great.

Sinatra is First Class
Excellent presentation and Sinatra is a first class showmanship! His voice and command of the musical numbers is very very good, however, I was not thrilled with every song and compared to his voice in the 1973 Ol' Blue Eyes is Back, you can detect some degradation in his voice quality. A standout performance by Buddy Rich on drums. I've never seen anything as impressive as his performance on a classic West Side Story number. Frank is great on New York, New York, My Kind of Town, Send in the Clowns and I Get a Kick Out of You. I'm glad I purchased this DVD. Plays and sounds fine and the video quality exceeded my expectations.

love sintra, kinda disappointed
Frank has so many great song and everybody has there favorites but it is probably safe to say the songs on this dvd were not his most popular. Seems like he was in his prime when he sang at this concert. Maybe did not want to do a best of thing. Wished more popular songs were on the dvd.
