“DRY”max! Superb Socks!
Love Drymax socks and these go just above the knee but I fold them down over the top of my calf. I am 6’1” and 210lbs size 12.5 foot. I ordered the XXL and they fit perfectly. This pair is just slightly thicker than the ones I am used to but still great. They are not extremely tight like compression socks but they fit snug and don’t fall down. They have not shrunk when washed. I have thick wool/poly blended hiking socks that I wear over these for hiking, firefighting, snowboarding, and wearing most of the winter(in boots) to keep my feet comfortable and warm. These by themselves keep your feet dry but not extremely warm. In combination with the thick socks, these wick and sweat away from your skin keeping your feet dry and warm even if you sweat, which I do ALOT in my fire bunker gear/boots. I highly recommend them and plan on purchasing at least 4 more pairs. I rely on opinions and reviews when I purchase products so when I find a great product like this, I take the time to tell others. Not for the companies gain but for yours! Pass it forward!**Disclosure-The white square is a place to write your name. The pair I have on in the picture I ordered through the fire department but they are exactly the same as I received on Amazon, other than the white square. In the station we often wash soiled clothing after a fire all together which is why we label them with out names...

Holiday gifts
I always give good socks as presents. It helps that these come in a larger size, wear well and are attractive

very comfortable
i love these socks, they work fantastic in the cold and keep my feet feeling dry all night. only thing is i ordered a large over calf but they actually go over my knee so i gave 4 stars, next pair i buy will be a medium over calf. i would definitely recommend these a must for worker who wear boots all day.

Not you daddy’s DryMax sock.....
Whoa.. They give new meaning to ‘over the calf’ like over your knee possibly. It used to use DryMax exclusively when running Marathons and Triathlons. They’ve changed, not for the better either. These new socks are all about compression, gone are the special left, right coded socks with great wicking and LOW compression. Yep they wick dry, but too thin for me and size a little small. Can’t find the old ones I loved, so much, I bought 40 pair in 2002 (way ahead of their time) each pair had a specific left & right sock that made 26.2 miles SO much easier, wicked so well that no possible blistering. THESE ARE NOT THOSE SOCKS.

These over-the-calf socks stay up.
They are very comfortable. Try keep my feet warm and dry all day, and the padded sole holds up well. I have ordered these socks twice, they are very durable, and I hope the quality remains as good as it is now. I would gladly order them again.

Works great as a compression sock
Works great as a compression sock. It also wicks sweat from your skin very well. My only real complaint is that if you get the size that fits your foot it seems as though it won't fit your calf well and if you get the size that fits your calf there's lots of extra material in the foot.

Socks stay dry and STAY UP
What I was looking for: A tall sock that stayed up on my leg, keeps my feet dry and feels durable. What I received: A very durable sock that STAYED UP and kept my feet dry. These socks have just the right amount of padding for a work boot, not thick, but not dress sock thin. They feel very durable and hug your foot just the right amount to stay put.The main quality I was looking for in a work sock was it to stay up on my leg without falling or bunching. I tried these socks on and immediately ordered 3 more pairs. Buy them if your looking for a stay-up sock, you wont be disappointed.

Not for big calves
I'd rate the sock 5 stars if the cut of the sock was wider. They are very well made and the weave of the "wicking" type fabric is smooth, tight and comfortable. The soles are relatively thick and cushy while the rest of the sock is less dense but not so thin as to feel cheap. I followed the sizing chart and bought an XL and while the length of the foot and upper is appropriate the sock itself is tight - somewhat uncomfortably so - on my calves (my legs are more slender than they are big). After 3 or 4 hours of wear I start to feel the top of the sock binding around my calve.
